That's pretty awesome. Special day that those kids and parents will never forget. Fantastic job from the flames in fixing a screw up.

Awesome display of community accountability. That would have been the bees knees if I was one of those kids. Love the Flames.

Wow, that's pretty awesome. Great job by the Flames to try and make up for the mistake and what an opportunity for those kids.

When I was that age, my hockey team won a draw and got to play the flames in a scrimmage during their skills competition. We got to fight Sandy McCarthy, score on roloson, got a pre-game pep-talk from lanny macdonald, and theo got a penalty for taking a slap-shot on our goalie from the other end of the rink. Haha!! And our families got to watch their kids feel like NHLers for a game. It was a thrill for all of us to experience that in the dome. All the flames players were class acts and made it an awesome experience for all of us. One of the best memories of my childhood.

The Flames are such a great organization for stuff like this and it means a lot to those kids to have an experience like that. Way to go flames!

Pretty cool story, unbelievable experience for the kids. My minor team played the Flames in a practice during minor hockey week. Still remember Risebrough coming out dressed as Lanny. A couple of players stuffed a friend into the old hockey bag and dragged him off the ice. Before the Dome I believe.

We do minny minor day at Roger's Arena. It's pretty cool, announcers, starting lineup (every player), replays, siren, interviews between periods/games. We are down there for 12/14 hours with game after game. Really cool, really fun (more fun than a canucks game). Just to watch the expressions on the faces of the kids as they step on the ice. No coaches or players though. Seeing Hartley and Gelinas out there was awesome. To cool.

Great way to make up for a mistake.

Even at my nowhere near kid age, hearing that horn go off when I scored a goal (that wouldn't look any better than those kids' shots) would be a memory I'd latch onto forever.
