I don't know about that. The players choose their athletic careers. Doesn't seem fair to hold the school liable in perpetuity for the players' choice. There'd need to be a time limit on that, I'd think.
That is true and perhaps "rest of their lives" is a bit overboard. But they should certainly have coverage for medical treatment once they've left the school for injuries sustained while representing the school.
