Burrows scores twice and the Canucks win it in the SO - everything is fine in Vancouver!

Avs seem to play Chicago well during the regular season. The playoff 'Hawks are a different beast though. Would still love to see that matchup.

Patrick Kane just scored a beauty goal. Hawks down 2-1 now.

Jeez, what a job Patty Roy has done in Colorado. I know they didn't have the makings of a last place team one year ago, but still to come all this way and have a chance at the Presidents Trophy is astounding. I can't believe some people questioned his coaching ability, since unlike some coaches he proved himself in the junior ranks.
He just might be the first ever athlete in sports who was the best at their position to become a successful coach and/or manager.

I wonder if anybody predicted Colorado to finish ahead of Chicago.

Colorado has 40 regulation wins out of their 43 wins. Pretty impressive. The only Western team with more regulation wins? The team we beat the crap out of tonight.

They probably picked up Berra to ensure that they win all the shootouts they play in down the road as well.
Those are valuable points in the grand scheme of things. As stupid as the shootout is, you still want to win them more than half the time.

Nope, nobody predicted the Avs to do this well. They are in the running to come 1st in the west and win the President's Trophy, it's surprising to say the least. The eastern leading Bruins also have 41 reg wins.

Looking at other sports, Joe Torre was a 9 time MLB all star, NL MVP, and batting champion as a player. He won 4 of 6 World Series as a manager of the Yankees. In the NBA, Lenny Wilkens was a 9 time all star, is in the NBA Hall of fame as a player and as a coach, and coached the Supersonics to the NBA finals twice and winning the championship once.

I can't wait for the new TV contract to start. It was Wednesday which is TSN's signature night and only 1 game was shown, no doubleheader. What a joke, simply pathetic and good riddance to TSN. The Flames game should've been game 2. The Bruins-Habs game was on NBCSN but TSN only showed it regionally. The Bruins smacked the Habs 4-1, Rask was awesome in net. The Bhawks-Avs was a thriller, 3-2 for the Avs and Varlamov faced 39 Chicago shots (should've been on TSN2). The Canucks fluked out with Lack in net and won 3-2 in the SO. Hwy19man has been very busy the last 2 days, he should be back Thursday.
