Rather would lose 3-2 than 7-4, letting in all seven in a period. But, who would do that?

Sucks about the injuries. It would have been nice for Granlund to finish the season here and get more comfortable with NHL play.
And I'm pretty happy with Ortio. For a rebuild, you can't ask much more from a young goalie if he's really only giving up point blank tips and jammed in goals. I think that brings much more confidence to the players in front when they know that giving him a clear sight-line is enough. They would do that with Berra and Ramo, but they'd give up the (almost too regular) stinker which really deflates a team imo.

I was a bit disappointed in the crowd - couldn't have been more than 15k there I bet. Hard to blame the owners for waitiing on a rebuild - I have a feeling they knew this was likely. Imagine if it was Minny or Buffalo instead of LA.....

No that is not Theo and even though the crowd was 15-16k, the tickets were sold out. Don't think the owners care too much about the scenario.

Hmm - really looks like him but ok.
As to the the crowd - yes they do. Empty seats - especially huge sections like last night, look awful on TV, look bad to people there, and have a tendency to have a carryover effect to future games and next season.

Any word on how bad the Granlund injury is?
I'm kind of surprised he was injured on the play. It didn't really look like there was any big contact between the two players.

Of course owners care. That's 3 thousand people not buying hot dogs, beer, programs, ect.
This year the empty seats started in March. Next year if the same team is out on the ice and are out of it by December, they will probably start seeing huge gaps of no shows in early February.
Really hope fans stay patient. If not, ownership could step in and say get me back to playoff hope as fast as possible.

I think when they hired Burke, that's what they were saying.

Well he was always a power forward type player in juniors and led his OHL team in goals one year when Cherry was coaching. I wouldn't mind seeing him get 10-ish minutes a night, especially against bigger teams like LA. I think the main reason he got that goal last night is because he's one of the few on this team that could actually muscle his way into a position like that.
