FWIW his dad is Paul MacDermid - http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/p...y.php?pid=3261. And his brother is a Kings prospect. Doubt it was an easy decision for him to make given his family is all about hockey.

His dad is part owner of the Owen Sound Attack of the OHL (where he played junior for most of his career) so he could end up working there.

EDIT: Hate the reaction of some in this thread. Guy is giving up on something he's dreamt about his entire life. Its a 6th round pick and its not like he walked up to Feaster and made him give up the pick at gun point.

Probably a very upsetting time, it must have been tough when he felt he was finally breaking through in Dallas to get thrown to Abby and told to work back up when realistically we seem set for goons for at least the next 2 years.

Best of luck to him in the future and I hope he can look back happily on the decision.
