Ever since 2002 with the American women having the audacity to put our flag on their dressing room floor and step on it, I've cheered vehemently and relentlessly against their country. And their diving antics this Olympics haven't changed my opinion in the slightest (I'm assuming Kesler was picked for their team solely to be a tutor to the women and the men)
Go Selanne!

Also kind of dumb not to start Miller.
Quick faced 40 shots about 20 hours ago. Has to be a little fatigued and lacking a little focus after last night.

Haha Kesler can't come on the PK because he lost his helmet.
Word on the street is no one will share theirs with him because he has cooties.

Amazingly this will be Selanne's 4th medal in 6 Olympics (1 silver and 3 bronze). The only blips were losing the 92 QF against the Unified Team and losing the 02 QF against Canada. Both went on to win the gold.

So if Russia is the Oilers of the Olympics, is the USA the Canucks?

He would look the same if they were up 2-0.

Chris Johnston @reporterchris
After scoring 20 goals in four games, the U.S. hasn't scored in the five most important periods of the Olympics.

Have the US given up? They look pretty deflated, and really don't look ready to play this game. Otherwise, they really do look like a 4–6th place team at this tournament.
You have to really give it to Finland. They have never won an Olympic gold medal, but have pretty consistently been in the hunt. Two silvers and three bronze medals in the last five, and as disappointing as I'm sure it is not to be playing for the championship, Finland continues to play their guts out. All in all, it makes the US look bad. What a bunch of sorry losers.

I have to think that most people—and most Canadian media reps for that matter—didn't actually watch any of Team USA's games. I watched all of them except for the Slovakia game, and YES, they really had a cakewalk all the way to that semi-final game yesterday. Well, save for the game they played against Russia, which they should have lost, but for some reason this was virtually ignored in the rush to anoint Team USA as the class of the Olympic tournament.

WOW US. Now that they are playing teams with world class defence, they look like a pretty average-ish team....... At best.
