Nice win! Very tight game. Not impressed by the Swedish team this tournament though, so I expect us to have a tough time in the final no matter which team we get.

While you can't fault Lehtonen in any way for the loss, you'd have to think the Finns would have been more confident with Rask between the pipes, and the result may well have been different.

Stupid commies even botched their bio-warfare strategy, and gave Rask the flu 3 days too late. Of course, with how awful the Russians were, I think Kipper could have come out of retirement and beat them without even taking a warmup....and with a smoke hanging out of his mouth the whole time.

This tournament should dispell once and for all the conversation about who the best defenceman in the world is. Karlsson's been a freaking god in this tournament, while Subban has been benched. It'd be funny if it wasn't so sad. Yeah, Norris Trophy winner my ass.

The best defenseman in the world is Doughty

So are Keith and Weber. Karlsson is great but he's still primarily an offensive defensemen. Keith, Weber and Doughty are much more balanced.

Fair enough. How about "best Paul Coffey-ish defenceman, who couldn't find his own zone with a road map, in the world"?

I agree that Karlsson's game isn't the total package, but his defensive zone awareness is head and shoulders above Subban. In fact, woeful defensive zone coverage is the reason that PK is riding the pine, isn't it?

I'll edit my comments to the "best Norris trophy winner in the last 2 years"

He's certainly better than Subban, but they are both very good at what they do and incredibly both lead their team in scoring (though I suppose thats a bad thing really).

Curious what you are basing this on.

I'll be happy to see Canada drop a ten-spot on this abomination of a hockey team on Sunday.

Probably part of it is due to awful fans like you.

By the way, you said you'd never come back to this forum again. Couldn't help yourself eh?

1) We have played in a division that causes us to hate many Swedish players (Forsberg, Sedins, Naslund)

2) Canadians tend to like the Finnish team, so we hate you because you are their biggest rival.

3) We were also force fed the Sundin and Allfredssen (Leafs/Sens) rivalry by CBC so there are two more Swedes to dislike.

4) 1994

5) IKEA and the guy in their commercials

Feel free to ship more of your women this way though.

The CBC showing that battle of Ontario instead of better games should be the number one reason!
