I believe it is for that if there's lots of DNF's or Disqualifications in the final.

Btw props to everyone who has been here every night since day one. Happy to see there are others out there who are obsessed enough to watch fringe sports in the middle of the night.

That was a great race. French guy had the best line the whole way.

Reading week = immediately switch to a nocturnal schedule to watch pretty much everything in its entirety

Great news guy's. I got taken out hard and screwed over of a medal. But I did amazing in the small final... This is not the proper way to address this issue.

That looked like the cleanest run so far. A little trouble at the back, but the front somehow stayed clear of eachother.

I wouldn't be surprised if 4 guys at some point fell and didn't finish the "big" final, so the small final winner got a bronze.

Winning gold in this event seems like hitting 5k with a Plinko chip

I seem to recall something like this happening in short track. Maybe 2002 or something, 500m final had 2 of the 4 disqualified, so the winner of the small final was given bronze.

Perhaps but that was a great strategic run by the french guy. Never gave the speedy russian the right line.

Yeah, but the two french guys only made the finals because two boarders fell in front of them.
