Yeah, the USA dominated.

Hamelin's heat was really intense. Not sure he should've moved on.
Yeah, that was quite the heat. It was pretty hotly contested. I'll take it though.

Nice! Cournoyer actually had the best time of all of the skaters in the heats.

Yeah, that first heat was fast. Gives him the best lane in the quarter-final match-ups.

500m semi-finals coming up. St-Gelais is in heat 1 and has to face both Park and Fontana. The 2nd heat would've been the preferable heat, as 3 of the top 4 in the event are in Heat #1.

Norway picks up another bronze.

EDIT: 1000m quarter-final match-ups two days from now are up. Cournoyer will have 5 competitors in his heat, it'll be hard for him to beat Lee and Han. Hamelin has Victor An in his quarter-final but they should move on. Jean has a very tight QF with Celski and Elistratov, but should move on in that one too.

EDIT #2: Disappointment for St-Gelais in her heat. Amazingly the favourite, Kexin Fan, is out too. Elise Christie who is #12 on the world cup and has never been in the top 25 before this season is going to race for a medal.

WOW!

Podium contenders USA and Korea fall in the men's 5000m short track relay and are eliminated. Khazakhastan and Netherlands advance.

Canada up in the next heat.

The American short track speed skate team may get in still because of the wipeout by the South Koreans.

Oh my god. That 5000m relay semi-final was brilliant. Kazakhstan and Netherlands through to the final? Unreal. USA gets advanced, but no Korea, wow. USA is #1 this year, so had they not been in it, that would've made for an amazing final. Now 20 skaters? Oh man.

Not only is short track exciting to watch, but we are -always- in the 5000m relay final. No Canada, no Korea? Man, sad day today for Canada at the Olympics.

It could be wipeout central coming up for that race.

Yeah, I'm just really sad right now that we aren't going to be in that event. It's been one of my favourite events since I first started watching the Olympics in the 90s.

Kazakhstan better get a medal.

I love short track. THREE fall in the 500m final. Craziness.

A bonzai move by the British girl trying to pass on the inside. Definitely deserved to be DQ.

Kelekin, Nehkara, and LockedOut sum it up best, total craziness and insane! These wipeouts are nuts and now a DQ in that race. Must see TV.

To give you guys a sense of how much I love watching the Olympics... I work 7-3 this week but I really wanted to watch the olympics live so I slept from 6 pm until midnight and then got up to watch... off to work in an hour or so.
