Luongo has been stinking it up in the games leading up to the Olympics

Every game I've seen Luongo in he's been good. In fact the goaltending has been the only thing on the Canucks that hasn't sucked.

On topic: PK Subban, Matt Duchene and Mike Smith scratched for the game tomorrow.

You mean scratched for today's game, right? 8 hours from now. Probably best to scratch Duchene for now, and if Carter or St. Louis don't work out he can slide in for one of them.

I don't understand why they don't seem even interested in giving Smith a game at all. I don't love the guy, but he's a good goalie and isn't far below Price or Luongo talent wise, if at all. Why not give him a preliminary game as well?

Babcock has been quoted as saying it'll be hard to win if they replace the starting goaltender once. If they replace him twice they have no chance. Basically, Smith was brought in as a "break glass in case of emergency" type of situation

But who says Smith can't be the starter? I see no reason why he can't play above Price or Luongo.

Hasn't the presumed starter ended up being ousted by a different goalie in each of the games since 98? I can't remember98 very well, but Brodeur over Joseph in 2002, Luongo over Brodeur in '06 and '12? Correct me if I'm wrong.

I get that, but to bring him and not even give him a game against Norway/Austria seems odd to me.
