Yak still has to work for his ice time, and he's got the potential to be one of the best finishers in the game.

Also, you could actually get him on a bridge deal when his contract expires. Make him earn that $50 million deal.
I dunno... I think Yakupov didn't need the ego boost to begin with, and the instant MacTavish says the words "bridge contract," he'd piss off to the KHL and you'd never see him again.

Well I wouldn't take a bridge contract from MacTavish either. I'm assuming that if the other three were traded, Katz caved, had the balls to fire the entire front office, and let someone who knew what they were doing handle hockey ops.

There's a lot of assumptions made already before I get to Yak accepting a bridge contract, so let's pretend it's a clean sweep haha

Just finished watching the 'Hawk/Oil game on DVR...there is so much wrong with the Oil...Their PP turns it over? NP...and no hurry on the backcheck, the 'Hawk grinders get a few whacks at a 2 on 1 with Smith ending up flailing a few shots from 2 feet. Guy coming at you with speed? NP...I'll back off and give up my inside shoulder, Toews twice (once for a goal), Sharp once, Shaw once...Pulled goaltender? Hemsky went directly BEHIND the net, did he work himself out to the front? NO! He drifted to the corner, so, no screen and no rebound chances.

Awful defense, awful puck pressure, bad goaltending (along with 4 Goalie PIMs)...Hemsky with one good move to the net (I think Leddy was shocked to see him take the puck to the front), and one pretty passing play on a D- scramble for Hall's goal. Oh, and one fluky pass to an empty point and an empty net...

The 'Hawks got goals from the 4th line, and two from the 2nd (I think Seabrook's goal will be changed to Shaw, his 2nd of the game, it looked like Shaw tipped it)...and the 1st line remains hot.
