What would help for me is getting started on the new building already. Part of me is holding onto my tickets with the hope that there's a good team and a respectable building at the end of this nightmare. With no new building and a #### team I see no need to hold onto my tickets. Ultimately it's the product on the ice that matters most. I'm not spending 4 hours out of my evening to socialize and watch drunk idiots play sumo hockey. Everything other than the hockey though is lipstick and mascara on a grotesque pig at the moment.

Score some goals. That would be something they could do during the rebuild. FFS.

I think the Flames have a big enough fan base for that.

Alaska, not so much. But Abbotsford, yes. And my complaint with the Heat coming to Calgary is that they don't come often enough.
When I went to the Heat game prior to the outdoor classic it seemed about 1/3 full and many of those people were leaving early with me leaving not a whole lot left at the end.

I think if the tickets are cheap and it was a once or twice a year thing you may get 5-8,000 people out but the interest will be fairly low if it is a regular thing as the AHL has very little appeal to most people, even many hardcore fans.

One lucky fan gets to play a game on the top line in hopes of finding chemistry and actually getting the flames a goal!

Back in the days when we got our season tickets, there were some decent vouchers given to STH holders. 2 for 1 suits at Thomas Jeffery. A booklet of free concession food coupons. $2k coupon off a Ford (not a generic junk mail thing either).

The year before we got the tickets (so 2001) each ticket got an Air Canada voucher good for a flight anywhere in North America. So, tangible stuff. I have a full collection of Flames players pucks and of. pins, and set of Flames players Bobblehead given to STH'ers as well.

All the other things are nice ideas, some were tried (suffering through the band "Heebee Jeebees" or equally awful "20/20" as they played a handful of games those first few years between periods and between whistles) and were terrible.
They try it with that awful do pretending to mix on some game nights, just doesn't work.

As much things as they Flames tried, besides not working, fans wanted more. People that no longer sit near us were hoarding the freebies and asking for more. They complained about everything to the ushers. It may have even been on here at CP that some ticket holders didn't think the Flames were personally doing enough for them (circa 2002) Funnily enough, 2 years later around the end of January 2004, the team was in a legit playoff race and people stopped caring about the promos and freebies.

From what I remember, the two Heat games they've played at the Dome were both less than 5000 in attendance. It's better than they draw in Abbotsford, but still not up to the level of the Hitmen or Roughnecks (which is understandable because they were one-off games and they didn't have any built-in presale tickets).

bring in some alumni players to score goals during the intermission. This will also help keep whoever activates the fireballs awake
