Must be nice being down 2 goals with 2 mins left and not really worrying about not being able to tie the game. Just unreal.

Nah they'll squeak in but they won't do much.

Id say they were worried, but they have the skill to easily get it done.

Oh damn that shriek from whoever was cheering for the Crosby goal is almost bad enough to make me feel bad for the Canuck fans sitting near her, almost.

5 losses in a row for the Canucks. Unfortunately they still got 3 points in that stretch.

I enjoy a Canucks loss as much as a Flames win. Since the latter won't be frequent this season, I take solace in the former.

Their window has definitely closed and they're most certainly on the down swing, but it's highly unlikely they miss the playoffs.

5. Colorado - 42 GP, 56 PTS
6. LA - 43 GP, 56 PTS
7. Vancouver - 44 GP, 54 PTS
8. Phoenix - 42 GP, 51 PTS
9. Minnesota - 44 GP, 49 PTS
10. Dallas - 42 GP, 47 PTS

Making up ground is extremely hard and the two teams chasing (Minnesota and Dallas) are already at the point where they need a lot of things to go right for them to catch up.

Canucks will slide into 7/8 spot when it's all said and done and get destroyed in the first round...

No, they are not. Half the season is left. Canucks lose 2-3 in regulation, Minnesota and/or Dallas win 2-3 in regulation and they are pretty much tied.

If there were 10 games left I would agree with you.

Ya, making up ground is harder because of the loser point. But still half a season to go. I still think they will miss.

I hope the Flames make selling type trades to the Wild, Coyotes and the Stars.

How about Cammalleri to the Wild, Stempniak to the Coyotes and Wideman to the Stars. All for picks and prospects.

And just to be safe, maybe help out the Kings and Avalanche too.

Yeah, the loser point makes things ultra difficult as it seems like teams in the second half of the season always get loser points more than the first half. Would be interesting to see if this is actually the case and can be backed up by facts.

Even tonight, after I posted the standings, Minnesota won in OT but because Vancouver got a loser point, they are now 4 points behind but have played one more game than the Canucks.

You and DOOM are right though and there is a lot of season left to play still I suppose. I just don't know if Dallas and/or Minnesota, having played at the level they have been so far through half the year can change their results now and roll off a couple of winning streaks to make up that ground. If they play like they have been, it's doubtful.

Seriously that Kassian goal was insane. He knocks a waist high pass down to the ice and in the next motion flips it perfectly into the top shelf.
There are games this season that showed that perhaps Luongo shouldn't be on team Canada either. Fleury has won the cup.

Crosby and the Penguins, what a show they put on. Great comeback and then win it in the SO 5-4. The Canucks were lucky that Lack was in net, it would have been a 7uongo kind of night. The Oilers just keep on losing, wow, how low can they go? The stupid Oilers muster only 18 shots on net in the 5-2 loss. The Blues led 3-2 after the 1st period. The Ducks just keep on flying as they win 5-2 over the Bruins. The last 2 games, the Ducks have dive bombed on the Bruins and Canucks who both looked liked beached whales from the 2nd period onwards. The Wild squeak out a 2-1 SO win over the Kings. The Wild's 3rd string goalie, Darcy Kuemper was great as he faced 39 shots. The surprise of the night had the Predators beating the Sharks 3-2 in reg time. The Lightning complete a strong western Canada roadtrip with a 4-2 win over the Jets. Martin St. Louis with the GWG. A big LOL to the Leafs as Tavares gets 3 points and the Islanders win 4-2. It looks like that time of year that the Leafs start falling. The Flyers-Devils game was great. Devils tie the game with 30 seconds left in reg time, a SHG by Ryder with Brodeur on the bench. Pardon the pun, but a gutsy effort by Schenn whose gut was cut by a skate and goes on to score the GWG in OT. Flyers win 3-2.

St. Louis was pissed last night and rightfully so. I think they're going to regret not naming him to Team Canada. 2 goals against the Jets.
