Watching this game really drives home to me how badly we need to sell high on Glencross. Everyone else was okay, I guess.

So when does the "I like Bouma" thread start?

The B's look really good and the east sucks. B's and pens in the east final

Well not after tonight. He indirectly single-handedly lost us the game with a complete lack of discipline tonight.

I'm sorry but how many goals did we score? He didn't single handedly lose us anything. It was men against boys after the first period and we simply weren't good enough. Him and Jones were pretty much the only ones willing to engage and use their body against the Bruins. He had another solid night.

Pretty sure others were involved.

They did have to score a goal,at least, to win.

Colborne on the Bruins

Quote:
They’re a team that finds ways to win and that’s why they’re successful,” Colborne was saying at Tuesday’s morning skate at TD Garden. “It seems like every team in the West, especially me coming from the East (Toronto), you go against some big centres every game . . . (Ryan) Getzlaf one night, (Joe) Thornton, (Anze) Kopitar, Jeff Carter, those guys who, every single game, are controlling the puck and making plays every time they’re on the ice.

“We were saying (the Bruins) could be a West Conference team, for sure. I know for a fact, (acting GM) Brian Burke, that’s the kind of team he’s looking for (the Flames to be).”
Quote:
They put their time in and now they’re reaping the rewards of it,” said Colborne afterward. “It’s a good measuring stick for us to play against those guys.

“They’re at the place we want to get to where people don’t want to come into to our barn and play because they know it’s going to be a battle.”
Gio on the loss

Quote:
“They’re one of the best teams in the league, defensively,” captain Mark Giordano said. “Their goalie (Tuukka Rask) is unbelievable, he played really well (Tuesday). He made some huge saves, especially in the third there, there were a couple lying in the crease and he recovers well. You’re not going to get many chances. There is a reason why they give us as many goals as they have . . . when you get your chances you better bury because there’s not going to be that many.”
Hartley and players defend Bowma

Quote:
However, Bouma’s teammates — and head coach Bob Hartley — were quick to defend the physical winger.

“Lance works so hard and is such a great young man to work with that we all felt badly,” the bench boss said. “On the bench during his second high-sticking penalty, we were saying, ‘Come on, kill it for Boums.’

“You take away their two power play goals, we didn’t give them that much. Five-on-five, they might have had an edge on us but it’s not like they dominated us . . . the effort, the work ethic is there.”

No hearing planned for Brad Marchand on boarding of Sean Monahan last night. Nothing rising to supplemental discipline after 2 min penalty

The hit wasn't that bad. Glad there isn't going to be a suspension for it

I would have been fine with them giving Marchand 5 and a game for it, I hate playing against that guy.

I loved watching him miss those open net shots, karma!

The time for selling high on Glencross has passed. I think right now, you might get a 2nd rounder and a couple of mid level prospects at best. His contract is attractive, but his effort this year is pure garbage.

There's still a lot of talk about interest in Glencross from the national media. I think his value is still very high.

But I just don't think he's going to waive. I don't think winning is that important to him. I think where he lives, his lifestyle, and being close to his family are more important, which is why he signed the contract he did.

Marchand hits Monahan into the boards from behind, nobody does anything about it.

And people say the Flames are too soft...
