No but the BS hits + blocked shots toughness meter is.

The Oilers were 4-16-2 and about to go 4-17-2 before Ferrence said enough getting pushed around. Why are we taking hits from wimpy guys like Stempniak? He was fed up and not going to take it any more. He showed the kids on his team that you have to stand up and push back. That is what leaders do.

During the 6-2 record the Oilers have played 3 teams in the play-offs 5 out. They are 1-2 against the play-offs teams, getting whipped twice and 5-0 against the non-play-off teams, with 5 games at home.
Ference didn't show the young guys they don;t have to take it. He didn't spark his team to play better. The schedule maker handed Edmonton a easy stretch of games where they were able to get some points against some bad teams and show they weren't close to the good teams.
Ference didn't turn around Edmonton's season at all with that play. He didn't even come close to turning that game around, if any one player did it was Berra.
I have no idea and don't really care. I am not really sure what it has to do with anything.
From the outside he looks as much a leader as most secondary type vets of his ability are. No more or less than the average guy and no more or less than Andrew Ference.
