7-2 with a couple minutes to go and Taylor Hall is on the pp? I get that he had 2 goals but that is bush league. Hopkins also on the ice? Go back to the minors Eakins.

Was Sarich a healthy scratch tonight or does he have a minor injury? Wonder if he will be in the lineup tomorrow.

Wild have a stellar record when scoring first...and they scored first and last tonight, with a 4-3 regulation win in Minny. 'Hawks were short at center, sending down Pirri (and 'Hawk fans are scratching their heads at the way Q has handeled him), and leaving Shaw and Handzus home with injury and an illness. Spotted the Wild a 2-0 lead...roared back to make it 3-2 and then coughing up 2 late goals. Hawks need to give a 60 minute effort, and are wasting a lot of energy on playing from behind...Q has been double shifting too many of the top guys, and fandom in Chicago is getting restless about that. Funny how success demands success... For me, I want to see Q ease some of the minutes of the top guys...and as I truly despise the Olympics, (flag waving BS...should be returned to just an amateur track and field event) I really don't want to see the top guys on the 'Hawk roster piled with minutes now, and in that useless exhibition.

I love that the coilers won by a landslide and the fanbase is celebrating again, next game they'll be ready for the suicide booth again. No wonder Katz bought that team, he controls the supply of anti-depressants. He's making money win or lose.

Wow, what happened to the Avs? After the Oilers made it 5-2 that was it, the Avs mailed it in. The Oilers get the 2 late PPGs in the 1st period, one of them being a 5 on 3 and then 15 seconds later a 5 on 4 goal. How long can the Leafs goalie sustain facing 50 shots or so? Gotta give credit where credit is due, Bernier was excellent in net and was the reason the Leafs squeaked out a 3-2 OT win over the Stars. Another stretcher brought out at the Bell Centre where the Habs won 2-1 in reg time over the Bruins. Boychuk gets carried off after being checked into the boards by Pacioretty. Retribution is coming up next game for #67. Montreal takes over 2nd place in the eastern conference. The Lightning beat the Senators 3-1 in a game where former Sens goalie Ben Bishop probably made the Sens regret trading him as he faced 34 shots for the win. St. Louis scored a pair of goals as well on Lehner. The Jets crash against the Panthers by a 5-2 score. The Hurricanes defeat the Predators by the same 5-2 score. Carolina scores 4 straight goals after being down 2-1 in the 2nd period. The Blues pound the Islanders 5-1 scoring 3 PPGs, going 3 for 6 on the PP. Kunitz scores 2 goals in the Penguins win over the Sharkies. The score is deceiving here as Fleury was the show in net as he faced 45 shots from the Sharks. Niemi was pulled after the 2nd period after letting in 4 goals on only 27 shots. Nice 4-3 reg win by the Wild over the Bhawks. A pair of 3rd period goals by the Wild wins it as the Bhawks rarely blow a 3rd period lead. The Rangers defeat the Sabres 3-1, no surprise there. Lundqvist had his shutout spoiled with 2 minutes left in the game.

Why was the Oilers #1 PP unit out with under a minute to go in a 7-2 game?
Gotta relish that victory I suppose.

watching the replays I am still baffled on how that was only a 2 min boarding, especially with the outcome (since the NHL is so reactionary).

It is NOT the hockey, necessarily, I have come to despise the whole over bloated a corrupt institution. I have no use for flag waving jingoism...and these athletes, IMO, are in it for cash, and individual glory...NOT for the honor of representing their countries. The rampant use of PEDs and judged event score trading is proof of that... And the whole "cold war" proxy war of superiority that had developed through the 50's and 60's into the 90s, unnecessarily reduced what once was pure amateur event into the tainted mess that it is today.

Okay, I see what you are getting at now and in some sense I agree with you. The corruption in the majority of high level sports bodies is so obvious but no one can prove it, the IOC, FIFA, UEFA, they are all the same.
I just get touchy when I read continually read NA hockey fans slagging off the olymics and the world championships. You have the opportunity to go and see live the best league in the world, with the best players, on a regular basis but unfortunately the vast majority of us don't and we only have opportunities like the olympics and the WC's to do so.
