They have the option to retain the pick if it's top 10.
Thing is, they probably shouldn't, considering McDavid is 2015.
Just a really, really bad franchise.

The press box wakes nobody up.
The fact that he's playing well now is a sign that Hartley made a mistake benching him in the first place.

Today, we saw this executed with ruthless perfection:

I used to think Hartley would be somewhat useful during the rebuild, but every game sours me more and more. He's worse than bad, he's a liability.
Get Ward in there ASAP.

Wonder if anyone else besides Sven would have gotten the same verbal bashing!??

Blow it up? Core is rotten? Trade Iginla?
Isn't anyone stoked we're edging closer to a top 3 draft pick?

I wish the Flames could've traded for the Islanders first round pick with Cammalleri. The Sabres trade Vanek to them and now will have 2 picks in the top 5 potentially. I'd imagine the Islanders may have been interested in giving up their first rounder for Cammy

The Swiss Berra Jamboree was less enjoyable than even the Country Bears Jamboree.

Not a good game to watch, yes, but it's not even fair to be mad at them. Badly injured team in addition to being badly out-talanted here. Just felt sorry for their dads having to sit through and witness their kids being manhandled.
P.S. Fully expected Jackman to fight McGrattan. Left disappointed.

Berra needs a break. Just needs to sit back and reflect and watch some video on his play.
The team as a whole tonight was lethargic at best. My case in point is Brodie has wheels and when he skates he's effective. His lack of skating today was the reflection of the whole teams efforts.
The Flames defense needs Ekblad far more than the forward group needs Reinhart or Nylander.
I wonder if Granlund gets a call up at some point very soon to see if he can produce. Need something. Cammy seems to be forcing pucks too much and turning it over in the process. And Hudler had an off night. Credit to the Ducks though. They're so darned good in their system at clogging up the D-zone and contolling the boards.
As Kerr said, the Curse hits it's ten year anniversary before they get another shot at ending it. Ouch.

Hard to draw penalties when you're hemmed into your own zone all game.

Is there any other team that sucks as much in one building as much as the Flames do in Anaheim?
The Flames just suck overall in California.

I guess that Berra plays tomorrow now that he has had a bit of a rest at the end.

True but there was also a couple of calls that went the Ducks way when the exact same play wasn't called earlier in favour of the flames. Prime example was the penalty against Stajan in the third which was the exact same play that a ducks player put on Baertschi in the first and got away with it.

I happen to think he is one of the reasons Rogers got the deal - former head of HNIC and the VP of Broadcasting for the NHL turned to hockey insider....
