I hope this is true. I really just want the retro to become the home jersey, then design a white one for the away jersey. So much better than the current ones.

Mother effin THIS. We need an impact #19 in the worst way, you can't be a great team with a scrub wearing a number like that.

When the Flames switch back to a standard red and white retro for their regular Home and Away kits, you're all getting a kick in the ass

Retros are the best jersey this team ever released.

That said, I'm glad they did something new for a 3rd. Now we just need retro homes and away whites for our permanent primaries.

There's been some great hockey players that have worn #23 too. Like someone already mentioned Gelinas. Also Bob Gainey, Brian Bellows, Bob Nystrom, Paul Reinhart, Eddie Shack. He'll still be in pretty good company with #23

Money Hand$ sounds like some sort of gangster/thug NBA bs. Soon it will end up being "Monay hanz cuz!."

Monorail is better.

I like Monahan myself personally. But whatever floats yer boats

Money is a good middle name though.

Sean "Money" Monahan. Has a good ring to it.

Much better than Taylor "The Turnover" Hall.

Or Ryan " Red October" Kessler. Actually, that one is pretty apt.

What does futuristic mass transit have to do with hockey? It fails as a nickname for me

I'm getting a retro "Moneyhands" jersey with the number $23$ sewed onto it using real gold thread. I will also have his picture tattooed onto my bare skull, and when I twitch my skin he will look like he is about to eat a goalie's face. Then, and only then, will you be able to claim it's a little over the top.

You do know that even if they finish last (they won't) there's only a 25% chance of drafting 1st overall, right? Meaning, it's unlikely they will get Ekblad, and even less likely they get McDavid.

Anyone else see the junior reporter during the same last night? Stajan said Hudler started calling him "Rook" and that's what stuck.

Weak sauce compared to this thread.... Still better than Monahansy though.

"For the Love of Money" by the O'Jays should be played whenever he scores at home.

I spilled mustard and ranch right down the middle of the white C on my retro on Saturday that I got at Sportchek for $16. It is now blessed by the Flames gods and I will probably never witness another loss while wearing it in the dome.

I say plaster the retros with Monahan. It looks beautiful.
