2-0 after the second period and at home, how can you give up 3 straight to the Greasers?
Not sure what to say after that loss?

I dont give a crap if it's a rebuild. We just blew a 2-0 lead at home against the worst team in the league. If we want to rebuild fine rebuild around a work ethic. That 3rd period at times looked like a 5 on 5 PP for the Oilers. Pathetic. I don't know what irks me more, people throwing Berra under the bus for the Flames totally checking out on the poor kid or people who will now blame Hartley for probably farting on the bench.

I'm pretty sure this is what 95% of this forum expected going into the season. We knew it was going to be a tough one. The Oilers have three 1st overall picks in their lineup. We have one 6th overall pick. Eventually they were going to get a win against a team like us.
Let's just not throw rookie goaltenders or other young players under the bus. The 3rd goal was bad, but goaltending won't be a difference maker for this team.

Losing is fine when you are rebuilding as long as there is effort, which there was. If the team's skilled and young players can get their faces punched in while playing clean hockey it's a bigger problem.

Our goaltending has been inconsistant and has cost us games. That said i'm not ready to give up on Berra or Ramo.

At least one of the goals is definitely his fault (Perron). I question whether he could have caught the puck in air on Hemsky's goal. Still lots of work to do in net. Will Ortio be the starter before the year is out?

The team still struggles with the inconsistency problems they have struggled with for many years. I'm going to go hide in a dark closet now, that was pure embarrassment

Started out well.. Then the ol Flames "we are the kings of the world" mentality set in and the result is the sme. Although there was some energy for the first 20 mins... And the first 7 mins of the third which made it a good game to watch. This team has a really bad power play and defence. We suck, that's ok their learning but it's hard to swallow with the gems we shoulda had or coulda had.
The other thing I notice is we rally don't chip and chase very well, in fact that last part of the third the oilers were putting on a clinic of how to, and we were just hemmed in giving them so much space

Because of 1 goal? He had a bad night but to give up on him because of that is laughable.

The season before Kipper was traded to the Flames: 3.25 .879%
Berra this season: 3.78 .884%
Not saying that Berra is going to be the next Kipper, but some people have to quit with the hysteria. Just because Rämö or Berra has a bad game or are struggling doesn't mean they are complete and utter garbage and never will make it in the NHL.

Tying goal was a fluke, winning goal was scored behind the goal line, and a Stemps put the empty netter in his own net.
The Flames are pretty bad, but the Oilers are pretty putrid as well.
These are two bad hockey teams.

We are pathetic. Our goals against is almost on par with Edmonton. That is coaching.

I would have swapped goalies at 2-2. Seeing how weak that 2nd goal was and all..
Just me, but I feel like Hartley somehow needs some criticism here. Or maybe I'm just looking for a scapegoat for this mess.

1st Goal: Part Baertschi for being slow to notice the late man and part Berra for also mis-reading the play.
2nd Goal: You could probably argue that Berra shouldn't have lost sight of the puck but that was honestly a flukey, flukey play.
3rd Goal: Just Berra.
Berra has been playing better than the hideous goaltending that some people are saying he's guilty of. That being said, the team and the goalie have a long way to go if they want to be competitive in a 60 minute game.
