Thanks to this stupid name change policy, I'm stuck living in Barnet for the rest of my life.

I have no idea what Barnet is like, but you could do worse than be the guy is know for living in a part of London.

Unless we're talking about Ontario.

I propose an annual auction to change your user name. Money donated to CP...

Make it $50 for a name change, at $50 you won't have a ton of requests.

- $10 donation to CP
- Show a receipt for a $40 donation to Kidsport Canada or another minor sports charity.

CP raises some funds for server costs. Charity gets some money. User gets a name change and a small tax credit. Win win win.

If you can afford to get drunk and pick a bad name they you can afford $50. Think of it as paying for tattoo removal.

I have a Kipper related username as well, but have no interest in changing it. I never would have guessed, a couple of months into his run with the team in February 2004 when I joined this site, that I would name myself after a guy who would end up becoming the greatest goaltender in franchise history! I'm still a kipperfan, and I always will be.

To the OP, you've got a Kipper related name and the guy is a legend. Look around at some of the usernames on this board (see this thread for examples…), you could have done a hell of a lot worse.

The Flames made my username irrelevant by changing my section name to PL4.

When the new arena comes it'll be totally off I'm sure.

So, back to what KevanGuy was saying, no change to user names? Even if it's to change the location? I just moved from California to Florida, so Cali Flames Fan could become Florida Flames Fan at the touch of a button, no? Still same signature and picture so it's not confusing for people? Please, tell me this is possible?

If not, if I could change my user title to "permanent snowbird" that would be great.

No one, seems you have two different accounts, different computers where one stays logged in or something?

Haha, what the hell?

Although, if there's still a user 'flameswin12' or something like that, that'll be me.

I still think there should be one or two name changes auctioned off every year with the $$$ going to support the site...

I did kind of chuckle at how Photon totally blew CaliFlamesFan off and answered the next question, after he was the one who bumped the thread lol.
