I think a couple games as well. The tsn crew alluded to Ashton playing over the line frequently. Since he is young and starting to get that reputation I think the NHL will use this to try to get his attention.

However, he is not a repeat offender (to my knowledge) and Smith wasn't injured (shakes head), so I think he should get 2 but I think he will get 1.

3 games. He almost clipped Brodie with a knee in that game too, and went head high against the glass just missing Stajan. I thought he was playing reckless not even including that Smith nasty hit from behind.

In all seriousness though, this is a good result. Dangerous play, dirty hit, and that's exactly the kind of crap that has no place in the game. Smith is lucky he wasn't injured on the play.

I really think that these things should be meted out based more on the infraction and not the result (whether or not the "victim" was hurt) so it's nice to see some consistency.
