Loved seeing Baertschi on the bench with Bouma with the taps. Love that stuff. Smiles from Monahan on the bench with Baertschi after his goal are great too.
Awesome game from Baerstschi, Monahan and Bouma. Stempniak was flying out there, and great game by Gio.

Many man crushes for Bouma were developed tonight. Amazing heart and soul guy. Can only wonder what he might have done for the team last year were he not hurt.
MacDonald definitely wasn't great but in the end he was 'good enough'. That being said, put in Ramo next game. If this team can win despite MacDonald at times, I think it's worth giving the other guy a chance to see how much better he may or may not be than a career backup.
Amazing that we were above 60% in faceoffs for the first time in ages, yet had so much trouble consistently creating pressure. At the same time, kudos to the defense for fighting off the bigger forwards. Probably won't mean that we'll deal with the Getzlafs and Kopitars as well but so far so good.
Last but not least, I hope it was nothing more than a stinger for Backlund.

It wasn't that. I will always believe Iginla gave his all to this team. Sometimes his problem was trying too hard. I just think that we focused too much of our offence around Iginla. It worked when he was truly elite, but no one was willing to accept he wasn't an elite player for the last few years. We are now playing a great team game, and that's why we are winning.

I hear the crowd is awfully loud...
He scores as softly as a cloud.
Is there a chance his allegiance could bend?
Not on your life my Flames fan friend.

Take my pen-knife my good man
I swear he's Calgary's only choice, throw up your hands and raise your voice
Monahan, Monahan, MONAHAN!

Impressive that the Flames are somehow getting all these points while missing Cammy, Stajan, and now D.Jones.
Bouma, Monahan, and Baertschi are keepers for sure. Also one guy who I feel is not getting enough love this season is Wideman. He is playing more like a #1 D than Bouwmeester ever did.

Hudler with 2 points again. Not getting as much attentions the kids but he's had a great start this season. Same with Wideman...without him that PP is nonexistent.

hem....Wideman barely left the ice tonight, what a beast. Proving to be worth EVERY penny of his contract.

Bouma was an absolute beast blocking shots. He epitomises the hard work and dedication the Flames are playing this year.
Refreshing to see the Flames having fun on the ice surface. Frankly I haven't seen this kind of effort sice the 04 Cup final team

What a gutsy and gritty effort. Loved the shot blocking and effort by the team. Exciting hockey!
I don't see how they send down Monahan after 9 games.

Yep, in a real hard nosed, game where he could have easily felt like a boy playing against men, he kept at it, and absolutely capitalized on his opportunity when it came. There'd be a riot if you sent him down now.

Can you imagine this team plus Kipper in his prime?
This is why I love sports. We're probably the worst team in the league on paper, yet we outwork other teams to get us points.
