Yes, for a guy like Glencross, I wouldn't consider moving him unless I got a dream return. If Meszaros is the centrepiece of your package, then I would simply hang up on you.

I think Glencross is one of the only guys on the current roster who won't skate 100% every shift.

I'd rather be in left field than out to lunch than most guys on here.

Hopefully we have interest in shipping him out. Sick of waiting for one of his hot streaks then watching him play lazy and disinterested in between.

I can only imagine what our hockey ops department, with Burke involved, would do to that moron Holmgren is Glencross agreed to waive.
I don't think anything is off the board.

I like having Glencross on the team, I just hope the young guys don't follow in his foot steps. He is a spaz and lets his emotions dictate his game.. but in a bad way. If he is frustrated it will severely affect his game in a negative way as we have seen over the years.

That's a concern considering he's one of the lockerroom leaders (according to Maher) and was named an assistant.

Buh bye!
If they can get a pick and a player do it. A good young player and a pick.
His contract is awesome. He score 20-25 reliably.

Calling him GlenX does too. It's Scoreface.

I quoted this because of the irony of the poster's name. The closest example we have seen of Glencross' problems are Bourque. Big, strong physical player that can put the puck in (ok, not so much for Bourque) when they want to be.
Glencross is the last of the bad attitudes that we should have cleared out for the rebuild. Lazy, disinterested and exhibits no desire. This is supposed to be the leader for this team? No thanks. He is riding on past accomplishments and does not earn his credits every shift. I have felt this way about him for a couple seasons now. As far as I am concerned trade him for picks and give the ice time to the kids who will take full advantage of it.

I gotta ask, would you give up a 1st and a prospect for Glencross?

Complete disappointments?
So you're attempting to say that Brayden Schenn, who is 22, has played 113 games and put up 48 points, is a complete disappointment.
BUT Sven Baertschi, who is 21, has played 28 games and put up 10 points, is untouchable.
I'm not saying that is a great trade, but come on guy, give your head a shake.

I think Glennie is being just a tad overrated on these boards. Good contract for a decent player but the guy takes shifts off every other one.

why????? it's a pretty fair trade.
B Schenn in the long run would be worth more than Sven on the trade market. Centers are worth more than wingers.
Glencross for L Schenn and a 4th is about as good as it would get durring the season. Glencross worth at the trade deadline would be a late 1st and "meh" prospect.

I get what you are saying I just have always been a fan of the Schenns. Big western Canadian boys with a mean streak. I don't think they have been disappointments and both still have big upside
I do tend to agree the trade should be more one-sided since Philly isore desperate and my proposal was not one-sided in favor of the flames

Pros and cons to Glencross:
Pros:
A bargain of a contract
Can be counted on to put up 25+ Goals
Great for line-matching
Fast and great on the PK (not so much on the PP though)
Gritty - will even drop his mitts now and then
Cons:
Freakin' inconsistent (which is why he is a bargain)
Pouty
Lazy at times and gives you next to zero effort
Keep him during a rebuild? Both yes and no make sense. He is perfect for sheltering the rookies and being able to take the tough matchups. Put Glencross with any center, and he will make that center have a good year (Jokinen, Stajan).
However, do you want him as a leader where the kids have to look up to him? I don't.
So, Glencross is the type of player you keep until you get an offer you can't refuse. I would trade him for this year's 2nd, and next year's first. Could be a lottery pick!
Either way, ball is in his court - he controls his destiny.

I would love if we could pry Simmonds out of Philly, even at the cost of Scoreface. Comparable offensive production, younger, more physical, and more consistent. Bigger cap-hit though. Of course for all those reasons I doubt Philly would do it.
