Screw this notion of being happy we didn't get blown out, the Flames should have won the game. I hope the players and staff don't get it in their heads that keeping the score respectable is good enough.

Not mad either but as soon as they gave that crap show of a 5 on3 pp, it was over.

Liked what I saw from Monahan/Baertschi. Hopefully they get some PP time in the upcoming games.

Giordano was solid.

Apparently people are mad that our consensus last place team is not very good.

Entertaining game, and in the end, the penalty kill and a late, bad penalty cost them the game.

Keep expectations low, and realize that these kind of losses are all learning experiences for this young team.

On to Columbus!

The Flames were the better team at even strength.

Ya, I agree that's couple of those goals were not Ramo's fault at all.

Flames' Three Stars:

1. Kari Ramo
2. Lance Bouma
3. Mickael Backlund

Ramo has trouble moving side to side. During the game and very evident in the shootout (not saying the loss was his fault though).

Pretty solid effort from nearly every player on the Flames roster tonight. Seemed to be clicking with passes, lots of creative plays and scoring. I'll take the point and build on it.

Given my expectations for this season are so low, it's kinda refreshing not stressing about W, L or OTL and have my stomach in knots in the third period of a close game. I was able to just enjoy the game.

Doesn't really matter if he's only going to get 11 minutes a night. That simply won't do.

Looked just like last year's goaltending, sub .900 sv% and all. Wasn't bad but wasn't great and I know fans are looking for positives but Ramo will have to play better than this.

Can't win faceoffs? Check
Can't hold significant leads? Check
Terrible second periods? Check
Can't score in shootouts? Check
Can't deke in shootouts? Check
Can't make saves in shootouts? Check
Takes bad penalties at the worst times? Check
Allows other team to score milestone goals? Check
Playing the same old veterans instead of young guys? Check
A small glimpse of hope, followed by stretches of agonizing pain and disillusionment ? Double check.

Ladies and gentlemen may I present your 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 no wait 2013 Calgary Flames!
