Watched the Stars - Oilers games yesterday, (Oilers stunk to high heaven) and one player that impressed me was Dallas winger Luke Gazdic. Microscopic sample size as I've never heard of him before but he played very well, scored a goal and is tough as nails.

Dear lord...none of these players please. We are already having to send down players that deserve to make the team. How about we stick to the plan and get players that are likely to help this team. Most of these would be lateral if not recessive moves.

I think Eric Francis said it best. Flames have lead the league in 3rd and 4th liners for the past few years. There's no point in adding more.

Yes Breen, Street, Bouma, Blair Jones, and Macdonald would have to clear waivers to be assigned to the AHL.

Some of these guys are young. There are some good teams who are filled with players and having to send decent players down. If there's someone out there better than what we have... why not make a move.

Flames should pick up Tomas Tatar if he hits waivers, or better yet beat other teams to the punch and offer like a 3rd rounder for him. Fully developed forward (with the Wings), 50 points in 61 games in the AHL last season (21 in 24 in the playoffs), and even did decent with the Wings (7 points in 18 games). If the Wings are forced to put him on waivers and he makes it past the Flames I will be incredibly disappointed in Flames management.

Of all those guys the only one I'm at all interested in making a claim on is Goloubef. He's young enough to have some upside to him and be a part of the theoretical next winning Flames team.

Not quite.

1st crack goes to other teams that placed a claim on the player, if all of them pass then the original team gets a shot at getting the player back.

I hope they make room for Breen and give him a shot. Don't send him down, someone will take him. Again, I'd rather Breen learn and make mistakes than watch butler wash rinse and repeat the same old crap he does.

Breen has missed so much time he will have to go to the AHL to get some ice time. I highly doubt he would be picked up on waivers.

We will be looking for a young Dman on waivers in the next day or two.

I really don't like Butler. But he was looking decent after the deadline. Started playing with some grit.

Breen hasn't even proven himself an NHLer yet. Tough to justify making room for him.

Always like Mike Hoffman RW from OTT very good Junior Career and not bad on the AHL. But not much of shot in the NHL I think he needs to be a top 3 RW to be effective.
