Hartley ranked 2nd worst coach.

He apparently has also never won a Stanley Cup.
I like how Dallas Eakins is at 22 with exactly 0 years experience, 0-0-0 record, and 0 cups. Where are they drawing this conclusion from?

That has to be in the top 5 of dumbest lists ESPN has done.

They had Ken Hitchcock spelled Kitchkock, which has now been changed. I also can't match any of the coaches records on that list to their actual records. Really poorly done by espn, as expected.

They didn't include Bobby Ryan on their Top 100 forwards list: http://espn.go.com/nhl/notebook/_/pa...rank_forwards/

Not to mention one of the "expert" picks is Ilya Kovalchuk...

I wonder what exactly constitutes an "expert" these days?

Eakins hasn't had time to show he is a crappy coach like Hartley has. He still has the possibility of being good whereas Hartley has shown he sucks.

I believe Hartley is a below average NHL coach although and belongs in the bottom 20 based on his work with his last few teams but I do question him being placed below coaches that have yet to coach their first NHL game.

ESPN did a futures ranking too (Insider)

Flames were 30th (tied for last in Coach/Owner/GM with Florida, last in current roster)

Worst roster, worst GM, 2nd worst coach?

We'll be lucky to score a goal this year.

There are lots of things wrong with these ESPN lists. But the Flames players/coaches are ranked right where they should be. In fact, Hartley at 29, and Sven at 100 might be too generous.

Seriously, look at the roster. Anything higher than 30th is a joke.

I'll disagree with Hartley. But Baertschi, given the criteria, is way too generous. He's not even the best forward on Calgary today and was the only Flame ranked. More than capable of developing into the best player, but can a player with 13 points really be compared to a 500 point player like Cammalleri? It was great Baertschi finished the season with a 7 game point scoring streak, but should take a lot more than that. Especially when Kadri was ranked 78th and he just finished outside of the top 20 scoring with 44 points, between 13th ranked players Sedins.
