Post about open beta.

http://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/...10039254306#13

They did say that further opt-ins will be coming though.

Who knows when tho.

I hope it gives them more time to implement constructed tournaments.

I really think this game has potential. It scratches an itch that MTG can't for me: Quick and free to play.

It's funny actually. I scoffed at spending $10-15 to play MTGO, but I didn't blink when I spent $20 to open a bunch of Hearthstone packs.

Open Beta Incoming?

Being able to keep everything I achieve including cards after the wipe I can now start investing some real time into it.

http://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/blog/11100276

Main point:

Will there be any wipes in the future?
We don’t anticipate any further wipes. This goes for both the Hearthstone beta and after the game’s official release. Any progress made during the beta after the wipe will be retained through the release of Hearthstone, such as new cards you obtain, levels that you gain and ranks you achieve. Basically, you’ll now be able to keep your stuff.

Spoiler!

I think the spell effect is that it gives your opponent a copy if you use it.

Some info on the upcoming patch:

http://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/...ates-9-30-2013

Quote:
The rate that you acquire gold has been one of the other most-commented on topics on our forums. This patch will improve the gold output of Play mode, changing the gold generation rate from 5 gold per five wins to 10 gold per three wins. We will be monitoring this update as we progress further into closed beta and will continue to make changes as needed.
Gold buff!

That's a pretty reasonable change I think.

The daily quest change (being able to pick between 2 classes for your daily) is welcome as well. I do still hope that they add a few more quests that aren't of the win <x> variety.

I would imagine so. The wipe is probably due to a shift to better hardware with an increased capacity

They did say that the beta has been running on a small test server and after the wipe was being ran on the real server

Lots of changes in the latest patch. I'll have to put some time in this weekend and explore the priest/rogue/warrior as they seem to have changed the most.
