That doesn't mean anything. Pardy could end up on waivers still. They could have even offered White a contract and he declined. Lots of reasons for guys to be released from a PTO.

Frankly it wouldn't be a successful season if Stajan scores 50 goals and puts up 100 pts and Stempniak puts in 35 goals and the Flames finish 24th again.
Yes, the Sutter / Hartley swap was the only change of significance that occured with last years Flames. Nothing else I can think of changed at all.....................

Never was a fan of White in that lopsided swindle Burke pulled off.
So this what happens when Lidstrom covers up for White's pimples on D and how many fans said White was decent after the Flames cut bait with him.

No offers for anywhere near what he was making and he probably thinks he is worth it still.
Never was.

It's amazing how many times I go into a thread, read the first 20 messages and think wow deja-vous before I realize it was bumped...

Ian White can still have a great 2nd half of his career in the DEL or Swiss League. No point in his stage of his career going to the KHL unless he was offered huge sums of money (which he won't be I think).

An NHL team might even come calling if injuries are plentiful.

It would probably be worthwhile for him to grab a 1 year deal in Europe instead of sitting around waiting for the phone to ring. It makes sense that with the cap low he will probably not get very many good offers from teams looking for his services. He is probably expecting another $2.9M contract and teams are probably offering him a third of that right now to fit him into their current cap situations.

Once team's have their cap situations settle down (or the cap goes up) White should be able to sneak back in somewhere.

Is Mayers still in the league? White cant get a job, Hagman is long gone which leaves Matt Stajan who likely is in his last year in Calgary

He may have hung them up after winning a cup with Chicago last year. He's 38 and listed as a free agent.

"Our young players have looked like they are capable," said Jets coach Claude Noel. "We want to ... put them in a situation where we take a look at our own people and go in that direction."
Looks like White was released because of the Jets young defensmen have looked good.

But Phaneuf is going to sign with the Flames as a UFA next summer, so it'll be like it never happened.

I don't know if I'm kidding or not.

Good move by the Jets. I'm looking forward to a good ol' Manitoba boy playing for the Jets.

Probably didn't read the last page or so. The thread title doesn't spell it out in black or White

Stop being stupid. Why would you go to McDonald's and not get fries? It's puts the smile on the face!
