On what planet is this album underrated? Everyone always refers to it as a classic. Not to mention it contains one of the biggest diss tracks in hip hop history.

Pink Floyd..."Animals". The forgotten b#stard child from their "popular" years...and probably my favorite PF album.
Scorpions "In Trance"... or anything they did with Ulrich Roth playing lead guitar. Criminally under appreciated here in North America. Anyone who thinks "Rock you like a Hurricane" is the best these guys have to offer will learn a real lesson. Pre-surgery Klaus is a force to be reckoned with. Uli's guitar work is shades of Jimi and Blackmore (contemporaries) and his influence on major followers like Malmsteen, Van Halen, Rhoads, and Hammet has been well documented. From a guitar player's perspective, some performances are just too good to remain buried in the miasma of the 70's rock thing.
Uli Roth is the poster child in this regard. He was way before his time

No it's sure not what Ministry fans were expecting in 1996, but man is there some raw unbridled emotion & desperation on that disc. If Type O Negative had released some of these tracks a few years earlier they would have been labeled as master pieces. But as a follow up to Jesus Built my Hot Rod this new stuff just didn't measure up to expectations.
Maxinquaye was pretty hyped at the time it came out. For good reason I think, a good album. Kind of forgotten now I guess.
I think Trickys second album Pre-Millennium Tension never got the recognition it deserved. I always felt Massive Attacks insanely popular and highly rated Mezzanine was basicly like a popularized and less interesting version of Pre-Millennium Tension.
Pre-Millennium Tension still sounds like a psychological horror movie, in a good way. Still sounds quite unique. Oddly catchy too.
More underrated albums: Mick Harveys two cover albums of Serge Gainsbourg songs. They are both fantastic. Many of the versions are actually better than the originals, and it's a crime that these's are basicly completely unknown to people.
And from what I understand, Roisín Murphy is not very well known in North America. Such a shame, her first album is really good.
