Meh, they're no "Flames Pedestal Jersey", but they're ok I guess.

6 places actually, since the front and back of the helmets have numbers too.
The number on the front is totally unnecessary.

I think the "weight" they Sharks are alluding to is visual weight, rather than physical.

Cash grab is an understatement. The last Sharks redesign was one of the nicer jerseys in the league. Shoulders were too heavy? Give me a god damn break. I like the away ones but there was nothing wrong with them in the 1st place.
I'm really fed up with the jersey merry go round.

At least they have cool team-logo shoulder patches instead of flags.

Maybe they're waiting for the sharks to do something in the playoffs before they finish them?

IMO, they're ugly and a real step backwards. It doesn't even look like a proper jersey, kind of like the Oil's first Edge jerseys. Terrible.

Fantastic? Yeah right.
Looks like they took a step back from the previous ones. Sure, simplistic..clean. But unfinished is a better description. They basically took the old ones and just subtracted a bunch of stuff. How creative. Without a bottom stripe of any kind they just come off as practice jerseys. That's the first thought I get when I see it on the actual player. 90s, perhaps, which would make it look on par at that time, but not present day.
If you want to refer to "cluttered" or "complex" look at european team jerseys. NHL jerseys of the past decade aren't nearly as bad. Dunno what the big fuss over that is about.
Doesn't really work for my taste, personally, and as a designer. The straight cut from teal to black looks very dull. A white, orange stripe/edging would work much better to separate the two.

The only thing they needed to do was remove the numbers on the front. I loved their jerseys other than that. This is just a plainer version. I think the horizontal stripes added a lot to the old one.
And there's still no room for the Stanley Cup patch. Keep on enjoying those conference final losses Sharks.

Off the top of my head and without looking at last year's uniforms, this does not strike me as very different.

The lack of bottom stripes looks very plain. Very pajama-esque, like the Leafs from 2007-2010

I think they look like practice jerseys. Do not like at all.

There's a fine line between clean and boring and I'm sad to say these fall more under the latter. I loved the Sharks old jerseys and always thought the only change they needed was to get rid of the numbers on the chest. Sadly they kept those and got rid of the waist and shoulder striping. They just remind me of the Leafs jerseys when the league switched to the Edge cut and had their mostly blue pyjama looking uniforms. Not suprising the Leafs tweaked the sweaters only a few years later to add waist striping and thicker sleeve striping.
And what is this BS about reducing weight? Do a few stripes really make that much of a difference. Can you imagine if a player skated off the ice out of breath and complained to the coach that his jersey was too heavy? "Damn coach, how am I supposed to score when I have to lug these shoulder yokes and waist stripes around all night?" Yeesh.
On the plus side I'm glad they kept the teal color because lord knows the league needs something other than red, blue, and black. Also I can see why they'd do this to increase continuity with the "clean" look of their black jerseys.
