Not to put too fine of a point on it, but the sites chiefly responsible for internet detectiving have their Social Justice Warrior mandate stop short of representing the Autistic.

They also tend to only get it right the 2nd or 3rd time. They tend not to care how many innocent people they destroy before getting it right.

I know you said you don't want to discuss it, but I wonder why you think this?

I am just trying to imagine 365 days of someone yelling in their backyard next door to my house.. I can't say it would be enjoyable. However, this letter is wayyyyyy over board. Wishing death upon the child? Wow. Just wow.
I saw this on a different website and the CPuck thread popped into my head immediately.. I couldn't remember who posted it though. Now I do

There's also not a lot of technology involved here for internet sleuths to worth with. What are they going to hack? A mailbox? Maybe the fire hydrant knows something.
Seriously, they should just have a big party and only invite people within earshot of the house; by means of elimination, whoever doesn't show up, or attempts to euthanize the boy is, the culprit.

While I think it would be difficult to have a kid yelling constantly, that letter is the most disgusting piece of filth I can imagine. It's Nazi-esque; Hitler would have been proud.

What exactly would the police investigate in this - I don't think that hating someone is necessarily a hate crime and if memory serves me correct there is a certain freedom of expression which is allowed within the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, subject to reasonable limitations of course.
If there was someone who was inciting violence against the boy or anyone with autism then I could see it being a hate crime, but just being a jerk and writing an awful letter, I don't see it being a crime.

While the person who wrote the letter is despicable, I really wish I could hire them to write something that would get through to my cable/internet company.

Call me a skeptic. But sometimes I feel these types of things that make it to the media are done by the victims as some sort of form of journalistic/letter writing minchhausen syndrome. Part of me thinks its legit. The other says "it's just someone looking for sympathy."
