Do yourself a favour and watch his most recent film, Mud. I was shocked, but somehow he learned how to actually act. Best film of 2013 so far for me.

It wouldn't be a thread without Psycnet rapping the internet's knuckles with a ruler over comments on women. No one complained about MissTeek's comment since we're not babies.
Why would comments about the actors in an upcoming movie be weird?
Lighten up.

Yeah trying to make the community less embarrassing to be part of is pointless. God forbid people try to mitigate all the casual bull#### that occurs.

So I think I heard Nolan's next movie is being filmed around Calgary? That's pretty cool.

It wouldn't be so annoying if every thread that mentions any famous woman didn't devolve in the same fashion. If all you can add is "nice boobs!" to a conversation, maybe brush up on your interweb skills - I can see that for myself.

I do find delicious irony in people complaining about the objectification of movie stars.
Jesus, half the reason these people are in movies is their looks. You think Shirts-Off McConaughy is in a ton of movies because of his thespian chops?

So ... why Okotokes/Calgary? What makes it so special here? I can see Kananaskis for Inception...

She was totally asking for it because of how she dresses.
If you didn't want me to stare at your boobs don't dress like that.
Rape is a result of women flirting but not putting it, it's their own fault.

Have you seen Mud by chance? Possibly the best movie of 2013. Or any of his other recent movies? McConaughey has legitimately become a great actor over the last few years, after he decided to expand his repertoire beyond lame romantic comedies (Mud, Lincoln Lawyer, Killer Joe, and yes Magic Mike). You would have been laughed at for saying it a few years ago, but McConaughey deserves to play this type of role. I have complete faith in Nolan, he knows what he's doing; I imagine he could have chosen any actor for the role, but he specifically chose McConaughey for a reason.
He's also going to be in Wolf of Wall Street later this year (a Scorsese production). Just goes to show how other great directors want McConaughey in their movies now that he's changed his career path.

In all fairness, I think acting is pretty difficult, but I wonder sometimes how much of a bad rap some actors get simply because they, or their agent, just overwhelmingly pick terrible movies.
I would love to talk to a movie star about how they feel when they're making a movie and they have that gut feeling that its just going to suck out loud. I wonder what thats like.
Imagine someone just doing their job, but no matter how well they do it the project is going to wind up as hot garbage and reflect incredibly poorly upon them and their career for all time.
That must suck. Just like Matthew McConaughy

I guess if women put out all the time it would technically be consensual, so......
I dont know what thats got to do with Christopher Nolan or the film industry in general though...

Nothing at all, just like who would/wouldn't bang what, when, for how much etc.
But that much should be obvious.

Based on this thread, my understanding is that the movie is about the paradox created by Hathaway's apparent hot/not hot status. A pair of theoretical physicists, (likely played by Caine and Lithgow) previously believing that hotness was a totally objective, measurable rating, begin to explore how this newly discovered phenomenon affects the space time continuum. They discover that in having two people with different measures of beauty observe the same person at the same time, it can actually create a wormhole. Then they try it with Jessica Chastain, and it doesn't work because absolutely everyone agrees that she's totally hot.
