And posters on this sight have a great grasp!

Glencross-Backlund-Hudler is our number one line and we are pumped for the season to get underway!

If Kipper is not back Winnipeg will hammer Calgary in all three scheduled games next season whether the city sucks or not.

Your point? I'm not sure there's a lot of people who will argue with that here.

I agree with both ideas in the bolded part*, but they're not related to each other. Try re-writing it like this:
Glencross-Backlund-Hudler is our number one line. We are pumped for the season to get underway!
See the difference? Now the second idea no longer follows from the first.

*Not necessarily the makeup of our first line

Yeah? And? Nobody is saying the our first line of Glencross-Backs-Hudler is going to dominate the league and lead us to a Cup, the reason people are excited is because we're finally going with a rebuild/youth instead of seeing a a bunch of old guys playing with no passion or intensity. I haven't seen a single person say we won't be a bottom team, strange post.

WOW! Awesome grammar lesson!

The point here is that Calgary is at present an awful team and it got that way because the powers here have constantly mismanaged the franchise. They have twice taken an excellent coach and placed him way too high in the organization (Risebrough then Sutter). Decisions to enter this rebuild happened way too late and now you are faced with a blow it up scenario that your present management thought could be avoided. Here is a question for you. Would players rather go to a city that is a dump or play for a team that is awful? I bet there is as much interest in players moving to the Jets with some hope rather than the Flames who have just torn down the franchise after selling off their two best players for NCAA prospects and longshot Euro goalies. And oh ya! Drafting Quebec preppers in the first round. Other than this years draft, Calgary has squat. But please don't blame Feaster for this, spend your time instead onver analying your junk and who may be best on your third line.

I just bet Wheeler and Bogosian won't have a change in heart and sign in beautiful Calgary this week.

Point? Posters here think Calgary is some kind of Shangri-la!

You couldn't pay Brad Richards enough to come here. He snubbed Calgary and took less to go to NY.

Didn't Shanahan just pass on Calgary as well?

You can hack on Winnipeg as a city and I am fine with that as I have lived there and know that it isn't anyones dream destination but my point is they are a far better hockey organzition at present than Calgary. And it will probably get worse here before it gets better.

I bet the Flames make the playoffs before the Jets. I'm confidence in this because I have my doubts the Jets will ever make the playoffs. The Jets will be struggling financially when the Cap starts escalating again after this season.

It must be something about losing there team before (in most of the fans lifetimes) that makes Jets fans so over the top sensitive because I have never seen a fanbase that gets so worked about if other don't like their town/team.

Edmonton and Vancouver get made fun of constantly both the teams and the cities and though trolls come to argue they rarely have that like us like us like us attitude like Jets fans do. I never understood caring what others think about the city you live in or came from but the braggging/defensiveness about a team that was largely built in Atlanta and has sucked for a long time is funny to see.

The Jets plan of drafting and developing their own players (Kane, Little, Bogosian, Shieffle) and avoiding free agent quick fixes and making incremental steps and getting big aggressive talented players seem to be the direction the Flames are heading in this year.

The Jets have made their move away from Kovalchuck and Peverly and Kozlov and Reasoner and Todd Whites 3-4 years ago. They made the cap space available to bring in key players from teams in cap-jail.

This is basically the same 5-year plan the Flames have started this year.

If the Jets are not play-off ready this year then the Flames may as well throw up their hands and go back to their old plan of adding an overpaid UFA centre (Richards) and D-man (Bouwmeester/Wideman) so that Cammalleri can carry them to the playoffs.

The Jets making the playoffs should provide hope that the Flames are on the right track.

You don't seem sincere.

I'll try again, because you really did miss the point. No one is excited because of who we might have as our first line. We're excited because we have some decent prospects, finally.
