San Diego is one of the very few American cities I'd move to if given the opportunity.

Lots of great suggestions in this thread. I don't have much to add here other than, San Diego is awesome. You'll have a great time no matter what. I was there earlier this year and plan on going back in about a month.

Enjoy your trip.

It was pretty cool and not your typical California dining experience.
I wouldn't imagine TJ is where you would want to take a family at the current moment. I used to go to SD a lot, and hope on a train over to TJ...... not anymore though.

Fish Market restaurant near USS Midway is a cool place with awesome food. We would not miss going there whenever in San Diego!

Agreed, no amount of fire crackers and switch blades are worth the risk at this point in time.

I thought Burger Lounge in the Gaslamp was one of the best I've had anywhere

EPIC BUMP

So I'll be in San Diego in November.

Based on this thread I'll have to check out:
  • San Diego Zoo (obviously)
  • USS Midway
  • Gaslamp District

I plan on a tour of Petco if at all possible.

Any idea what the weather would be like mid-late November?

I plan on doing just some random exploring (my favourite part of travelling) and I'm a big beer fan, so trying all kinds of craft beer (there's a beerfest going on here at home the weekend I'm away, and the organizers won't move it because I'll be away... I asked).

This thread is 3 years old, any new suggestions?

Is Tijuana still sketchy as **** to go to?

Pretty sure the weather is consistently nice year round, but I was there early December and it was low 20s, maybe high teens, every day, cooling down at night obviously, but still comfortable.

Went to some of the more well known breweries/brew pubs and they were all fantastic- Societe, Stone, Ballast Point, and Green Flash.

Also suggest going for a hike and checking out Cabrillo National Monument. A great view of the Naval air station from there and are likely to see some fighter jets etc.

And old town is pretty cool, particularly at night
