Fan960 couldn't get a hold of Sieloff. edit: NVM he is on now

  • took only a couple of days to negotiate contract
  • said Feaster talked to him during development camp and told him they would try to get a deal done
  • felt he did good at devel camp... felt great on the ice after his injury
  • takes pride in the blue collar game... wants to make it hard on the forwards and defensemen on other team
  • Kronwall was the player Sieloff models game after
  • focused on puck movement and puck skill this past season... not where he wants them to be but definately improving
  • WJC was a learning experience... was last cut and was willing to play whatever role they wanted him to play
  • very exciting to hear about opportunity to be in the NHL at 19... going to camp and play his game and make the best of the opportunity
  • put on 15 lbs on this summer...
  • feels ready for the NHL but knows its a huge change in terms of speed

Not a big surprise with the signing, but still nice to hear it happened. I think he will still go back to junior this year, but I bet he gets his 9 games in which I think will be very good for his development. He is going to be a favorite on the Flames in the future by the looks of it.

Nice. I fully expect Culkin to be signed this summer as well, and start his pro career in Abbotsford.

I really don't know if Sieloff can make the Flames this year, but that'd be great if he could. Either way, great to have him signed.

Sieloff is my kind of rugged D man. In his 960 interview he sounded mature beyond his years.
I have a feeling that he is going to be the player more talked about over Jankowski drafting.
Sieloff said he models his game after Kronwall he grew up a Redwings fan.
He said he is going to do everything to make the Flames this year but is aware how much quicker and more intelligent the NHL game is and that getting this ELC is the first step to making the Flames.

With that being said Jankowski has made noticeable progression maturing as a player and is filling out physically. Long term project that could pay off in a big way for the Flames.

It would be a huge win for Feaster and Weisbrod if Sieloff can actually make the jump to the NHL so quickly. The guy would be 3-4 years ahead of normal development.
Please bump Butler down the depth chart.
