It's actually a white powder mixed in with water and called "white wash". It's then lightly sprayed over a thin layer of ice.

First you hose down the cement adding a layer of ice. Then the white wash mixture is misted in a few coats over the ice. It's a thin layer of chakly ice. After that has settled another bunch of water mist layers are added to create a coat so the white powder layer isn't removed when thicker layers of water are dumped on. Once you've got a significant amount of protective layers of mist the hoses are dragged on the ice and the layers of hot water are poured over and over and over again until enough layers have been added that the white layer and painted or paper decals are safe.

Rumor is Buffalo's new third jerseys may be a shade of yellow/gold.

Which ones, the current yellow jerseys or the old dijon mustard 3rd jerseys?

Wouldnt surprise me if they were in the playoffs.

As for the yellow ice....its Nashville, they need gimmicks to keep people interested. Much ado about nothing.....
How have they improved? The D and goaltending are good but there are AHL teams with a better forward group.

Every breast cancer awareness month the one ice surface for my rec league is painted pink (home ice for local university team). The one year it was far to dark and it was hard to see the lines while on the ice. The other years it has been fine, though the boards are stained pink at the bottom.
