Will post more updates and pictures as work progresses

The contractor we found was doing a local town councilors house. Seeing his work first hand gave me confidence he was the man for the job. In the end it's going to cost around $36,000 to finish the basement.

No matter how many times I see these pictures I am still in shock that this happened. I'm glad to hear that things are going good and I got a little chuckle when I saw your furnace and hot water tank on the pedestals.

Everyone chuckles when they see it. I then have to tell that it's building code. Not that it saved either in the flood.

Another update:

The celings in the bathroom, spare bedroom, hallway and family room have been restippled and the first coat of primer has been put on the drywall. The hole in the first picture is for the gas firplace which will be installed later.

I thought I'd post some pics in here. We had 7' of water in our basement in Bowness and have done most of the work ourselves. We just had the concrete floor epoxied and it looks super-cool.

We decided not to drywall to the floor but instead are building sacrificial baseboards in the event of a shallow seepage flood that our sump should handle.

The neat thing is the floor differentially reflects light from the pot lights so the ceiling looks underwatery too.

Another update:

The end is in sight. The painting is done and the trim and doors were put on today. Next week the flooring goes in and the baseboards are put on. Also the vanity and toilet will be installed as well as tile above the shower.

Electrical work will be finished tomorrow.
