I am most excited about Poirier. He was a bit of an "off the board" pick, but after looking at how he plays, I am excited to see what he can bring to the table. I hope him and Monahan can earn a spot on the Canadian Junior team. I feel they would both excell there and it would finally give us something to watch closely in the junior tournament.

Not most excited, but intrigued by Eric Roy
The Flames could really use a big, skilled blueliner in their prospect stable; they have big guys like Breen and Kanzig; they have smallish skilled guys like Kulak and Culkin and some average sized rugged D-men like Seiloff, Ramage and perhaps Wotherspoon.
If Roy, could fill out his 6'3" frame, he could project into the big skilled blueliner that the others do not appear to slot in as

I'm excited about the future at center and how it will play out over the next 5 years.
Jankowski
Monahan
Knight
Reinhart
If somehow they all work out we have our top 4 centers for the next 10 years starting 2 years from now in some order. We just need 1 of Janko, Monhan to develop into a number 1 and the other can fall to a good number 2. I don't ever remember having 4 center prospects. This year is the year we find out about Janko, if he can put up .8 to 1 ppg then we know we have something. If he stalls at .5 to .6 ppg then we can start to look at him being a bust or at least not a 1 or a 2.
So the center prospects are my most intriging group. As long as we get a number 1 and a number 3 center out of those 4 the future will look great.

Gaudreau, based on the hype alone. Hope he can be a special player for us.
Otherwise, I think Jankowski and Monahan have the best NHL upside.

Besides Monahan or Gaudreau. I'm excited to see if Gillies or Brossoit has what it takes to be the Flames #1 goaltender. Was hoping for Irving but guessing he was a bust.

Definitely Monahan. I'm curious see to him compared to our other prospects because he apparently has a decent chance of making the big team. If that's the case, I'd expect him to really stand out amongst the groups.
I also think someone unexpected will stand out, and turn some heads. My guess is Poirier.

I'm pretty dour on Janko, would love to see him pan out but he has to make a huge step in production next year to meet an NHL prospect trajectory.
Most excited for Monahan, definitely. Will be really exciting to see how he plays against our best prospects.

It will be very interesting to compare these two - same age, position, size more or less, skill?, but very different paths to get here

Sieloff for me. He can lay down some devistating hits and I want to see if he can translate that to the NHL. Calgary hasn't see a guy who can hit like this since the Dion. We need a guy like this to pan out.

Really excited to see:
Berra
Jankowski
Monahan
Poirier
Johnny Hockey
Klimchuk
Curious to see their developmental progess:
Granlund
Ortio
Ramage
Seiloff
Wotherspoon
Agostino
Hanowski
Knight
Players I am more comfortable in a wait an see scenario:
DeBlouw
Arnold
Gordon
Roy
Kanzig
Broissoit
Guys who are there who don't really need to be there but will be interesting to see how they take the new kids under their wing:
Sven
Max
Horak
Total unknowns that I want to see how they do:
Padakin
Harrison
Penner
Berra is 26 and not really a prospect but he's going to be great I think.
Jankowski will be coming in and I feel he is going to wow a whole bunch of people.
Monahan just to see where he really stands in the grand scheme of things. Getting to see in this group is going to tell a lot of where his development and NHL readiness is.
Gaudreau just to see how much more size he has put on since first coming here.

Getting the opportunity to watch 3 new guys that went top 30 in this ultra deep and talented draft will probably be the coolest thing. Combined with the addition of Knight, the past month has brought a huge injection of talent and potential NHL quality players into the fold. These guys are probably the highlights of the camp for obvious reasons..
Poirier is a big one, mainly because he's like the Flash of junior hockey players. He even skates to the bench after a goals faster than everybody. He has a crazy, unique style of play. If he can use his skating to his advantage in being effective at the NHL level, he could do some real damage. I don't even see many NHLers able to skate 200 feet with the quickness of this kid. I can see exactly why he stuck out to our scouts.
Monahan should automatically be in everyone's top 2-3, cause if he gets his foot strength up to par and builds on his already versatile set of strengths and leadership qualities, we could be looking at our future captain in the making. He definitely should be getting amongst the most mention here. Possible #1C we've all been waiting for. If he is truly ready for the big team this fall then he should be amongst the standouts in this camp (or The). Important that he shows the position he was drafted and his caliber.
Gaudeau is a machine and he looked to be in another stratosphere compared to the prospects last season (by far the best). This kid excites me more than Sven. Didn't he have a hatty in one of the scrimages and all of them were some form of dazzling backhand, or pretty deke? He generated the most hype last year and I won't be the least bit surprised if he does it again. Despite his size, he's seemingly uncontainable. Much of his game if he makes the jump imo will be build on his confidence.
Jankowski has filled out a bit, and ramped up his play in the latter part of his college season. Looked slick in the few vids I managed to see, and still looks like a kid of high end skill adapting to a new body. I hope that he out performs most at the camp, maybe throws a few good hits too (using his size), but he's just slightly older than Monahan at this point, so if he doesn't then imo it still has little implication on where he ends up. Still very much in the early stages of development. And exactly why I still don't understand why Feaster has been criticized for the pick so prematurely...
Knight was amongst Florida's top prospects when he came over. Don't know enough about him to get an honest read. But seems like your prototypical gritty, 3rd line center. However, his sustained point production is also in line with 2nd line forwards that come out of college, so the jury could still be out on what his ceiling is. His faceoff numbers are extremely impressive, and I think that he alone could help bring our % back within respectability. Should look like one of the better kids at camp with the amount of development he has already made.
Klimchuk I have probably paid the least attention to of our drafted players this year but his production was noteworthy. Offensive style reminds me of Sven. But draws Eberle comparisons from the experts, which is very intriguing (Probably the only player in Edm that I'd really love to have here). Maybe he impresses the most of our new acquisitions? Would be cool.
And of course, Baertschi. I'd like to see how he stacks up against Monahan. He will also in turn be the measuring stick for our newcomers as well, since he now looks like a sure top 6 forward in the making. Hard not to be excited about about a guy that finished off the season on a 7 game point streak.
Honorables are Wotherspoon - I see top 4, dare I say top 2 potential in this kid, and probably the only D prospect (Brodie doesn't count) that I can say that about. For a guy who's been a good part of a perennial W contender for a few years and played alongside the top D-man in this year's draft, I think he's getting underhyped. How does he defend against some of the better talents here? Looking for him to make a splash at camp. Arnold, who's been an above average producer in the shadow of Johnny. Berra. Brossoit (how does he stack up vs the rest). What do Roy and Kanzig bring? (though not expecting much), and a personal intrigue of mine.. Marcus Granlund. Can't forget his world junior performance, definitely overlooked by most. This should be fun.

I guess Jankowski would be the one ... mostly because I don't really expect him to amount to much, but I'd like to see how he's progressed. Monahan too, for obvious reasons.

Easily? How? I can understand you being excited about him but easily more than Baertschi and Monahan?
Have any of us even watched him play other than his brief highlights?

Monahan, Sven, and Gaudreau by far for me. Also interested to see how Jankowski does, almost forgot we even drafted him.

Excited? The answer would be Jon Gillies. He was a player I really wanted to see drafted by the Flames. He's big (a direction I think goaltending is heading), athletic, and comes out to challenge. I kept him as a 2nd round pick and as excited that the Flames got him later than that. His great year in Providence has really gotten me hopeful that he'll someday be playing on the Flames.
Other intriguing players include Baertschi (all the normal reasons), Gaudreau (long term potential), Brossoit (very Loungo-esc in most realms), Roy (a player I would have drafted much earlier), and Sieloff (grit and tenacity)
