Kronwall, Zetterberg, Gustavsson, Franson, Ericsson, Samuelsson, Nyquist, Andersson, and now Aflredsson.

That's a lot of Swedes. Had to be a huge draw for Alfie.

Edit: Also, this is a 1 year contract. If Detroid doesn't make the playoffs, he asks for a trade at the deadline.

It's strange, my friends always loved Detroit, partly because of their Swedes. I've always disliked 'em.

(Except for my home boy Holmström)

Didn't see this coming.

Detroit's become a much more scary town, now that there are homeless bands of Swedes wandering the half-deserted streets at night looking for a target to loot.

But they also move to the much easier Eastern Conference next year as well. Detroit could easily be in the top 4 in the East.

I'll just repeat my post from HF here:

I haven't seen a heel turn this awesome since Hulk Hogan turned on Macho Man and joined the nWo.

Wonder what his thoughts are now, at least we got a 1st rounder & prospects for Iggy.

Now, the only question here remains: Is there a CP.com app for Android?! Where? I want it! I need it! Didnt' find it in the playstore though!

totally caught off guard on this signing since Alfie was supposed to end his career as a Senator. Iggy left the Flames because he was told by everyone to GTFO of Calgary. Alfie leaves because...WTF? Guess the Wings were one goal away from actually going to the Finals and they MIGHT have won the cup, but c'mon! What happened to that loyalty.

Still a soft team, albeit skilled and old. The soft oldies, eh?

I think that your browser will ask you if you want to switch to an android/smartphone designed forum when you visit CP through your phone. That might be what produces the "CP App for Android" stuff.

If not, I'm stumped.

Wow, this one totally caught me, and everyone else I've been talking to around town, totally off guard. I figured he might go to Boston, but I didn't expect him to leave the Sens for Detroit. I suppose if he is chasing the cup, he can ask for Detroit to trade him at the deadline if he doesn't like where things are headed.

Alfie quotes:

@tsnjamesduthie: Alfredsson: "I'm doing this for myself, I feel this is right for me and I really like the fit with the Detroit Red WIngs."

@SWhyno: Alfredsson said "I don't really have the time to wait" for #Sens to be Cup contenders.

@wyshynski: Alfredsson: Ottawa getting closer and closer to Stanley Cup, but I feel I don't have the time to wait for that. I'm doing this for myself.

Alfreddson is as flaky as they come. This amazing leader said no when asked if he thought the Sens could come back in the playoffs to win their last series.
