When they asked him, he said he's almost 6'3 1/2, 190lbs right now. He's committed to getting over 200lbs.

Forgot the name of the scout, but Todd Button said this pick was made because one scout fought like hell to get him on the list. Called him a crash and bang winger

This was actually his second year of eligibility.

That's pretty neat actually.
Anyone have someone else in mind with the 157 pick? No? Me either.
That a scout saw something in this kid that caused him to scratch and bite and kick to draft him, well, why not take a shot?
Personally I hope he pans out, and at least makes it to the Heat for a look-see.

I like this story, must be a scout that has put his work in to fight for him to be drafted.

Why not. This late on the draft it is so ridiculously lucky to get a guy that actually makes it, why not take a guy that one scout loves rather than a guy that a bunch of scouts think if as a draft and follow.

I's also empowering to the employee. If he is adamant about a guy, go with it. That scout will feel like a million bucks if this kid develops.

And the kid is embiggened as well. He knows he wasn't ranked or rated. He has something to prove.

At this late in the draft, it's good that the Flames swing for the fences. Very very few late round picks make it anyways.

Tell them they have to scout him for CP! We can offer...um...ooh...geez...let me think...
AH! I've got it, we can offer overreaction and criticism of their opinion!
Wait, that doesn't sound enticing does it....
