@SUNMitchell: Scout on Klimchuk: "Very good pick. Great shooter, one of best pure scorers in the draft. Release is outstanding." #Flames

There is a good chance that only one of them actually becomes an NHL player as well.
People are really jumping the gun if they think this creates a logjam at LW.

That was an off the board answer for that question, I like it.

Why does that matter at all?
What matters is how they develop

Klimchuk is excellent at 28. Good at everything but not bad at anything.

I like this pick. Good that the kid knows something about the history of the team.

Button said Flames have been watching Klimchuk play on a weak team all year long but his performance at the U18 solidified what they thought they had in him.

Klimchuk is kind of a meh pick to me. Not terrible, but I'm not sure why we wouldn't have gone with the slightly bigger and similar-producing Zykov (who fills an organizational need) instead. I'm not saying that you don't go BPA, but when BPA seems to be a toss-up you might as well go with what you need.

Really like this pick. Calgary needs high end offensive players and they just got three of them.
I wish I could just fast forward three years to see a top 6 of Sven, Gaudreau, Monahan, Poirier, Klimchuk and Jankowski... wishful thinking of course.
