I work in the Manchester area. Not at all affected by the flooding, yet we were sent home on Friday morning, and I got a call from my boss saying the office is closed tomorrow, and from then on will be a day to day decision.

And this is an insurance company.

I have to figure out a way to get payroll submitted on Tues, but other than that I am likely off until Thursday.

Well I sent some generators and pumps to one of the Centennial towers today, so take that for what it's worth.

As of right now Devon Tower is closed although apparently no water was taken on. Shell is also closed.

I believe Centennial Place had flooding in the lowest level of the parkade.

my work is making it "optional" too... which I find an odd decision given the city doesn't want people down there.

It's like yeah, ok, I'll "opt" not to thanks.

Not a fan of the telling employees its optional. Just make a company wide decision.

That being said, we are told we will be denied entry tomorrow (at the Bow.)

My work has made it clear that those in our downtown office should be prepared to work from home if possible for the next week.

Also, if we are directly affected by the flood or are supporting friends or family affected by the flood, that is to be our number 1 priority.

Our CEO sent out a note telling everyone that although our building is technically open, everyone should be staying home, and working remotely if there are any pressing issues to attend to. This is Dome Tower, in TD Square.

Instead of coming in, they also suggested we should be spending the day volunteering and helping out families, friends, and neighbors in need.

In addition, our company set-up a website so that employees who are looking for help/suppliers can post a request, and people who have skills, equipment, or accommodations to offer can post as well. I thought this was a really nice touch.

Our office is closed and assessing day by day. I've sent out an email to all of our staff reminding them about how to access our remote systems (most employees have phones with their work emails on them, but not all use remote access), how to access their phones to change greetings and such, and a general systems status update. I've kept them up to date every day since this began with multiple updates on our systems, offsite hosting status, and data links status.

I'll admit I felt proud knowing that our systems were available the entire time during this event, especially after reading about people on my FB having to run in and shut their technologies down in some buildings. As the head of IT, it's a good feeling to know you designed your systems to be available at times like these, even when the downtown core was potentially "offline".

My office is technically open (not downtown) but working from home is allowed and they're also suggesting people can go to McMahon to volunteer.

Worked through the weekend, now we're heading to assist in Medicine Hat. I would also suggest that if you are not required to work, please volunteer your assistance in any way you can.

I am appreciative of all the folks who are lending hand in the clean up efforts.

Good work Calgary!

My office got rocked badly by the floods. We are not to come in indefinitely, but rather stay on client sites for the forseeable future. Most of our equipment and office space is a loss.

Looks like we won't be back at City Hall for weeks. Temporary office being set up elsewhere. Right now, working from home.
