Anyone who watched a lot of Habs games would not argue that Markov was better than Subban this year.
Subban has really developped into a complete defenceman for Montreal, and is much better 5 on 5 than Markov. Markov's knee injuries are limiting him and he does not have the same mobility or endurance that he used to have. He really fell apart when Emelin went down.
Subban carried Montreal for long stretches this year and was often the best player on the ice from either side (and yes that includes his defensive play as well).
