^ If what you say is true it wouldn't be the first time. The flames have a history of parting company with its ex captains on less than friendly terms. Most notably would be the distance Lanny put between himself and the flames for a long time.

Borderline NHL'er? Come on that is ridiculous.

He did respect his employer by agreeing to waive his no-trade clause in the first place. I still dont' get this argument.

Maybe a bit, but as a one dimensional one way sniper you can't argue that his vaunted wrist shot has pretty much vanished and he doesn't have good speed or the strength to bull his way to the net, and he was losing more corner battles then he was winning.
I don't think he played at the level of a top 6 winger on a good team this year from start to finish.
So is he suited to a bottom 6 role? Not with his current style of play and indifference to defensive play.
Yeah, that puts him into a border line role as a top 6 winger or bust type.

One thing is for certain is that Iginla most definitely played himself off of Team Canada for next year; a better performance in the playoffs might have gone a long way in securing a spot.
The same probably goes for James Neal as well.

How many points did Sid and Geno put up in the series again?
Yep all Iginla's fault.

taking everything into consideration, I bet Iggy sometimes wishes he would have just signed the extension with the flames.....He had a nhl team build around him, could have received whatever money and term he wanted, great home, great, stable schools and friendships for his kids, and community that his wife could get involved with. All that is gone now....Where is he going to go now? Kelowna I guess...

I imagine wherever Iginla goes there will be great, stable schools, friends for his kids and a community his wife can get involved with. They can stay in Calgary while he plays hockey if it is that important to them.

He'll be remembered for the way this played out for years to come. Don't think he has any wheels to win a cup anymore, and I think with this performance he's lost interest from a lot of teams too.
Kind of reminds me of the time Steve Sullivan was being mocked by that fan and then later in the game the puck flipped the boards and hit the fan in the face. Iggy must feel it.

Its that kind of hockey karma - what goes around comes around.

Unless Iggy pulls a Hossa and signs with another cup contending team, he should eventually get his cup just like Hossa did. I'm kinda guessing here, but assuming the Cup final is Boston/Chicago and lets say Boston Wins, I am betting Iginla signs with Chicago.
This is all based on what Hossa did when he joined the Pens to try and win his cup his first year and failed. That or he's gonna go off the board and go play for Darryl Sutter and the LA Kings.

There is no doubt in my mind Iginla would have made a great Bruin and their style would have been better suited for him.
Jagr was on the 2nd line with Bergeron and Marchand and his done well but
Iginla Bergeron Marchand would have been a great combination.
Iggy would have received plenty of PP time just like the aged Jagr has.

Well if not for the Leafs epic game 7 collapse, we wouldn't really be having this conversation.

Iginla should have just told Feaster no to being traded, played out his year, and then signed with a contender in the off season. I'm sure he would have gotten less hate from the fans than trying to do the Flames a favour and agreeing to be traded.
I must say, I'm kind of disappointed at how some Flames fans are acting and the hostility towards Iginla for exercising his right to use his NTC. I know people like making fun of Oiler fans and how they behaved after the whole Pronger incident, but I don't see how Flames fans are behaving now to be any different.

That worked well for Mats Sundin...
But your second point stands. This is embarrassingly turning out to be something similar to how Leafs fans acted towards Sundin, when Sundin gave nothing back to help the Leafs rebuild.

Well, if not for the Bruins ' near-epic collapse, the Leafs wouldn't have got to game 7 in first place.
