Is it odd to be more excited about this "Young Stars" competition over the regular season?

So then do I finally get my wish of seeing Sven and Sean play on a line? Bout time. I agree, we've easily got to have the best lineup in the tourney..for the first time ever. The only concern would be that bunch of neanderthals they have manning the edmonton blue line. They'll probably try to steam roll a couple of our guys at some point.
Are the bench bosses going to be the NHL coaches?

I think with Ferland and Kanzig out there, we likely don't have too much to worry about...

Trouba appears on the Jets roster.
So he's allowed to play even though he's a college-committed?

He has left Michigan; signed an ELC back in April

With Sven being invited, I'm surprised Horak is not. Also Billins is not on the list either

Once you've played over 100 pro games, you can't participate in rookie camp as per the CBA.

Is this his fourth rookie camp? I thought you only have to attend three rookie camps and that was it.

I think Betker and Nurse are the only players with any real meanness back there.
Gernat and Marincin in particular are tall but slight, and are skill guys. Looks like the D-core should be Edmonton's strength in this tourney. That's weird to write. haha.
Edmonton looks to be bringing a fair share of blockheads up front however in Abney, Kessy, Ewanyk, and Moroz.
I'm interested in seeing Corban Knight for the Flames. He should really be standing out in this tournament if he is ready for NHL duty. He had good stats in college, and apparently does the little things right as well. Will be interesting to see if he lives up to the type. If so, the Flames could have a good player from found money.

Looks like I will be getting my hockey fix early with the good news that these games are going to be streamed on the Flames site. Sounds like the NHL is waking up to the fact there is a lot of interest in these new young(er) players.
This could turn into a bit of a crystal ball as to how our roster could look like in a few seasons time (give or take a few players of course).
