Lucic would physically dominate any version of Iginla you could dream up, young or old. Lucic is a bull.
He is not the goal scorer Iggy is, but I would take Lucic's corner in a fight, or collision 10 times out of 10.
Lucic is the better fighter no doubt. But Iginla in his prime wouldn't be physically dominated by Lucic. Do you not remember how Iginla was when he was a physical force? He was strong and a very determined player. No way Lucic could have manhandled a in his prime Iginla.

Win or lose the fight Lucic would be dumb to get Iggy involved like that. Even this year when he was pissed off he gets a real edge to his game and becomes a threat. Like others have said its just best to leave Iginla alone and not emotionally involved
If the Bruins and Lucic get obsessed with Iginla they will be gone pretty quickly as the Penguins have too many other weapons to ignore. The Bruins need Lucic to score and provide offense more then the Penguins need Iginla.
Any sort of distraction provide by the Iginla deal will help Pittsburg, they may even play it up.

Interesting article on the possible physicality of the upcoming series from TribLive.
“The more physical, and the more you go on adrenaline and intensity, for myself, personally, it takes away the thinking,” Iginla said. “And that's a good thing for my game.”

The last couple paragraphs of that article finishing with the other quote by Bylsma is awesome.
Quote:
“This is more based on when I played against Jarome than what you can visibly see on the ice, but you don't mess around when this guy's on the ice,” Bylsma said.
“He's a fierce competitor. He sets the tone. There's not a lot of people who aren't put in check when Jarome's on the ice.”
The Bruins knew that in March.

Iginla, playing the opposite side with Malkin and Neal, is on their line in part to help keep them composed. Also, coach Dan Bylsma said, he'll serve as a deterrent in case a member of the opposition tries to prove who's bad....
Interesting.

Its time ! I expect big things from #12 he needs to be meaner this series. We saw a bit of nastyness in the Islanders series when Crosby got hit and Jokinen was kneed. I expect him to get in a fight this series. Maybe he will fight Horton and give him the beating he should have gave him last time. In regards to a Lucic Iginla fight, although Jarome is 35 years old now he is a much better fighter then people give him credit for. There have been fights in the past where he gave up size/power and yet still won the fight. Hatcher, Clowe, Benn, Ohlund etc. So just because Lucic is bigger doesnt mean he will win. I have yet to see anyone match Jaromes conditioning/endurance and that is huge reason why he wins allot of his fights.
