Easy choice, Thor. Iggy getting his cup.

This semi-final will be televised by the CBC. One of my sources says the series could start on Thursday or Friday.

Sid the Kid, Malkin, Iginla. The media will build this as a good guys of the NHL vs bad Bruins which the Bruins will happily embrace that role.

The irony is Pit has villians of the NHL like Cooke, Morrow. They even have that goof McIntyre, even though he has played only 1 playoff game.

Bruins are tough but they do not have a group of players that go over the line and get suspentions.

This will be the series where Vokoun will get schooled, and get pulled, forcing Bylsma to put Fleury back in net. You watch!

I think it'll be the Bruins in 6, they seem to be hitting their stride... though had some trouble putting the Rangers away when they had them on the edge. Hard series to call.

Fleury is too slow for the Penguins.

I understand your point except for Morrow being a villain. He is one of the most respected players in the NHL.

Also, Ference's elbow against Toronto was much dirtier than any play by Pittsburgh in these playoffs, and the Bruins as a whole are the 2nd or 3rd biggest whiners and divers in the NHL. There's no team in the East that I'd more enjoy seeing Iginla beat.

Pens in 6 and Iginla gets in at least one fight.

Against Ottawa which I think is a very good team, they completely outclassed them and made Anderson look like Phil Sauve.

The Pens have just about everything going for them, the only 2 things I can think of going against them is that Vokoun, while being solid has looked shaky at times. As well I don't think they have been really tested yet.

I have been pretty underwhelmed with Iggy so far. We haven't even seen a hint of angry beast mode Iggy. But to his credit, while lacking the quickness that he once had and being surprisingly weak on the puck, he has been very good positionally, he is doing some little things that are helping Neal and Malkin do what they do.

If I had to take a wild out of left field guess, I think he is having too much fun. He is playing with great players and just having a blast doing so. Maybe once he realizes how close he is, and having personal experience with how hard it is to get back to the cup final, he will really bear down and maybe we will get a hint of the once dominant Iggy. Maybe the physicality of the Bruins will bring it out in him, or maybe he just continues to do what he has been doing. Solid, but hardly spectacular.
He doesn't need to be that guy anymore.

Anyway, Bruins have the Goalie advantage so I'll take them in 5.

It is not like Iggy is retiring after these playoffs. Iggy will always be my favorite Flame but he should not have 86'd the Bruins deal.

Boston wins this series if they bring their A game. If they lapse and fall asleep vs the Pens they will regret it.
Pit has shown in both series that they are prone to give up plenty of turn overs and bad goals.
Rask has been more solid than Fleury or Vokoun.
Pit has more top end talent but they don't like to bash like the Bruins do and Chara being the 6'9 freak he is something Pit doesn't match up against.
Alll the same Crosby and Malkin are probably the best forwards in the game.

Iginla and Horton re-match. Iginla is going to beat the wheels off of him.

Pens in 5. Way too much offence. Boston almost lost to the Maple Leafs, and then had the Rangers. They have a rude awakening. IMO, the East is weak up until Boston and Pittsburgh. I think Pitt is still way better.

This series is not going to be close.

This series is going to be very close. Boston will win this in 5 close games. Goaltending will be the difference and I'll take Rask over Vokoun/Fleury any day of the week.
