Morally I believe the government has no right to tell people what they can or can't put in their bodies. As well, there has been lots of problems and costs associated with prohibition.

If even half the money that was put into the policing side of drugs, was put into education, prevention, and rehabilitation, societal drug problems would probably be a lot less than they are now. Even if they were legal.

Course I don't really have any stats to back this up, but I guess that's why the article is there.

While propably true, we're talking about a vastly smaller business with small margins. It would be exactly like smuggling tobacco and alcohol right now. It's worthwhile, but it's not a huge business and the profits and risks are not in the ballpark that murdering people becomes worthwhile.

Crime syndicates took a huge blow to their profits when alcohol was legalized after the prohibition, and I don't see a reason why the same would not happen again.
