There is only ever a handful of seats up there; and I have seen people downgrade to go up there just from a price point.
Greens and Oranges usually have a few options. White seems to have the most options due to the sheer number of seats. Red once again has a few options.
We have moved 3 times in 10 years. Once we didn't actually end up sitting in those seats ever (04-05.) The two significant moves had different strategies. Where we sat from 2005-12 we went early, did the sprint, and just beat another couple. Those were for the aisle seats in 202. The aisle was a double edged sword; we had quick access to beer, going for a smoke, washrooms, etc. However being a main ailse going up to the 300s we had to accept that for 30 seconds after play started we would have people walking up blocking our view.
None of my group smokes anymore, and the days of getting hammered at the Dome are much fewer and further between, so we moved down a few rows and also into the middle of the section. We got those seats by getting there 15 minutes after the relocation started, getting our coffees, and going for a stroll.

I was thinking either to move down a bit in the whites (lose that 30 seconds of people coming back up to their seats after a whistle) or maybe reds.
You say their is a few red spots usually? Are they the decent ones or are they the ones they offered to me last year (on the glass/corner/behindbench)?

It's true- many of the reds available are ones that I wouldn't do a even swap with my greens for. However there are always some decent ones that come up.

When I bought my Chiefs season tickets they explained to me that I have the option of upgrading online every year. I told them how the Flames do it and the ticket rep laughed.

Why? Lots of issues with sight lines and visibility. Lower bowl and anywhere near the entry ways in the upper bowl. It is worthwhile to be able to see the difference between 20 plus rows up between the blue lines and 10 rows up cliser to the corner. Can't do that online.

I agree that people need to be able to see how the vantage is if they are moving into a new seat. However, most STH know the building pretty well and any new holders could just go check out the sections they want to move into prior to their availability date. Also, the Flames could just post photo views from various locations throughout the building and link them on a floor plan online. I just think this could be done a lot more efficiently over forcing everyone to head down to the dome over the course of two weeks.

I can see benefits to both ways of doing it. I can also say that there have been seats available that I might have grabbed if I had seen online, and then spent a year regretting the move. Like the seats in the greens with nobody in front of you, there is glass that would distort the view.
Football would be a lot easier to do, as the playing surface is a lot bigger so you aren't restricted to just one sight line. Also an online system would be better for a major move; like from the blacks down to the reds. Most of my moves at the Dome have been within a couple of sections; so really just fine tuning.

FYI - Anyone with A/Y Club seats looking to move within the A/Y club, the date is supposedly the 25th or 26th. They are not accomodating anyone looking to move within the A/Y Club on the date listed on your letter.

No surprise pretty bare. I could have moved in closer to center ice in the lower bowl though I would have had to give up my current isle seat. And I wasn't willing to do that.

At 12:30 pm, I saw a set of 6 in row 3 sec 213. When I left 15 minutes later, the four on the aisle were gone.
I did not stay long, but I did notice at least two other sets of 4

There were quite a few groups of 4 on Monday.
Center Ice, lower bowl, Red1 (section 110 I think?) had 4 in row 8. Great seats, but being behind the player benches you'd be looking through the glass and possibly around the standing coaches.
Section 211 had 4 Red2's, about row 9, right in the middle of the section. That'd be about the blueline on the visiting end.
Section 212 had some in row 15 and row 17.
There were probably another 6-12 sets of 4 around, mostly in the corners, where I choose not to consider due to the netting. The price points on the greens and oranges in the corner is great though.
All the ones I listed I thk were there at the end of the day.
Note: if anyone happens to have Section 212, Row 5 to 9 (middle of the rows), and wants to trade for my 212 Row 13, PM me. We could meet at the same time and make an orchestrated switch. I moved one of my pairs to Row 8, and maybe you're looking to save $1600ish per seat. Row 11 is the start of the White price level, so Row 13 has a nice relative value compared to all Whites, and is $1600+ a seat cheaper than Red2 in row 10.

There was an interesting option in about section 208 today. There were 7 seats together; so a pair, then a single, then a set of 4. We debated moving to the pair and adding the single to give us 3 seats. However it was a downgrade to our current seats so decided against it.

Was this in Row 20? Sounds exactly where I had my 4 seat game pack last season.

Was the single half price?

I think it was row 19. But I could have been off by 1 row.
As for the price, it was cheaper but not half price. Something like $1280. What caught my attention at first was an Orange single seat was almost the same price as a regular price Green seat.

I'm thinking of moving my seats from the whites on the end to whites at center ice. The nice thing about the ends is the price point for lower rows, thoughts?
