I had picked Boston to win the series, not based on any affiliation. So I was texting my friend and said you wait and see, Boston is coming on. And then they did; I couldn't believe it! Love or hate the Maple Leafs, it was an exciting game and secondly it broke their hearts.

If this happened/like it did happen to us... Your heart is broken for a couple of days. It shows the age and depth of a team... they thought they had it in the bag and then bam, bam, bam.

They had a good season and on the positive side they can't fire Burke.

The only thing I ever hated about the Leafs was growing up they were all that CBC ever showed. Once they toned that down and started showing other Canadian teams more the hate had I had for them went away. I was happy they choked but it was because my dad is a huge Bruins fan so I've always had a soft spot for them. Especially after 2010.

Read my sig to see the main problem with TSN.

they've toned down nothing, they've ramped it up if anything. It's disgusting.

I like the Leafs team, dislike their fans
I dislike the Bruins team, dislike their fans

I despised the Leafs team 10 years ago
I loved the Bruins team 2 years ago

Lol

Going to OT in game 7 against one of the supposed better teams in the league shows they don't belong in the play-offs?

There wasn't exactly a bunch if great teams out of the play-offs in the East ready to take their spot.

Yeah the force feeding of a steady Maple Leafs diet of crap hockey is one of those Canadian cultural moments that transcends English society. And probably the #1 reason most people cheer for American teams before they would cheer for the Leafs.

For my part, I remember the days of the $.60 Loonie where the Flames couldn't afford to keep star players like Dave Gagner and Andrew Cassels. The Canadian government proposed a $20 million dollar fund to be divided amongst the small markets to help offset the dollar difference.

Would have equated to about 1 decent player per team.

The Toronto Maple Leafs immediately demanded they be included in the program. The program collapsed as public backlash arose due to how you can't justify additional tax dollars going to that cash cow.

The Leafs very clearly were saying "Screw the small market Canadian teams, we'd rather see you fold."

Rivalry is one thing. But their greed tried to put a nail in the coffin of the Calgary Flames.

Don't forget it next time you might feel a twinge of sympathy for that POS team or their POS fans.

Spoiler!
I have re-done this part on myself, and he's perfectly right (unless I'm wrong myself too). You are confused by the fact that a figure 1 (a chance for any series to go into game 7) is equal to figure 2 (a chance for a team to get eliminated in game 7 in round 1,2,3 or 4). However, it's no typo and no mistake, those figures are indeed equal.

R1 = (16/30)*0.15625
R2 = (16/30)*0.15625 / 2
R3 = (16/30)*0.15625 / 4
R4 = (16/30)*0.15625 / 8

R1 + R2 + R3 + R4 = 0.15625
